If you are a Tina Turner fan, this is the album for you. I only wish I had a video of this live concert in Europe. There is not a bad song on this two CD album. Turner's rendition of "Help" is worth the price of admission. Not only is this album great to listen to, but equally great to exercise to--you will truly move! November 9, 2007

'Tina Live' (in Europe)was recorded just a year or two after I saw her perform almost exactly the same material (without the very famous duet partners, Eric Clapton, David Bowie, Robert Cray, and Bryon Adams). And even though the performance I saw was at a very ordinary venue (Allentown PA fairgrounds), Miss Tina gave every bit as good a performance as she does on this album recorded in London.

And this should be no big surprise, as Tina Turner has been making a big impression on the stange for decades. I can still remember the reviews of the 1970 Rolling Stones tour where it was said that their leadin act, the Ike and Tina Turner Revue almost stole the show from 'The Greatest Rock and Roll Band in the World'.

It's even ironic that when we saw Tina at the end of her biopic, 'What's Love Got to Do With It', we thought that this was a rare case where the subject of a film biography literally outshone the actor (Angela Basset) who played the part on the screen.

I also happen to be writing this as I listen to a Barbra Streisand concert album, and in spite of my being a Streisand fan from the release of her very first album, I find that Miss Tina puts on a show which simply blows Babs off the map. To be fair, Streisand puts a whole lot more nuance into her interpretations, but for stage presence, Tina carries the day.

Live & incredible.

I'm a big fan of Tina Turner and besides having her cd's I also have some of her live videos. And if you haven't seen Tina on stage, I have to tell you that you're missing an electrifying experience.

After touring for 4 years with sold out shows. Tina released this production in 1988 after the impact of "Private dancer" and her 1986 hit album "Break every rule".
"Tina live in Europe" cointains her biggest hits live as a solo singer (without Ike) and it also contains duets with: David Bowie, Eric Clapton, Bryan Adams and Robert Gray. There's a section on cd2 where Tina sings old classics such as "A change is gonna come" and "Midnight hour".
Tina delivers her best in songs like: "Help", "Let's stay together", "Two people", "A change is gonna come" and other ballads. But she also rocks with songs like: "Show some respect", "Proud Mary", "Typical male", "Addicted to love" (a classic on Tina's concerts) and "Better be good to me".

Tina's tour was worldwide but besides her incredible success of "Private dancer". In 1986 and 1987 Tina had an amazing hit in Europe with her "Break every rule" album and because of that an her early solo years. Tina felt that Europe was always there for her and this cd was a gift for her European fans.

This album won a Grammy in 1989 and sold millions in Europe and Asia, but in the U.S it only reached #88 in the Hot 200.
Part of this tour was her Guiness Records record of 1988 when she sang in Rio in front of 182,000 people at the Maracana stadium. April 19, 2003

Breaks Every Rule!

I hate to think what most performers today would sound like on a live album. Ugh! Fortunatley, we have Tina Turner here to show us how a live album should be done. As you listen to this set, you can almost see yourself at the various shows recorded here, with such amazing sound and precision. No matter if some songs are obviously from more than just her Break Every Rule Tour. They all rock. This woman personifies rock-and-roll more than any other female rock singer. The sound is great, obviously much attention was paid to the sound recording of this album, and it certainly paid off! This set stands as tribute to the incredible courage, determination, and pure talent of this unique lady. Just sit back, slip one of the two discs in your CD player, and enjoy! April 20, 2002

Tina defines "LIVE"!

Tina's 1988 European performance is spectacular, with a 2 CD set. (Though I believe some of the songs were performed a few years earier.) CD 1, approx. 66: 53, is a collection of her hits from the beginning to the present date. Her strong voice sizzles from beginning with "What you get is what you see," and wrapping it up with her rock n' roll anthem "Show some respect." CD 2, approx 60:33, continues with great duets with Robert Cray (In the midnight hour," "634-5789," Guitar solo on "A change is gonna come"), Eric Clapton (Tearing us apart"), David Bowie ("Tonight," "Let's Dance"), and Bryan Adams (It's only love"). Then closing with the destiny sound of "Paridise is here." Inside is a booklet is a letter about the trip and concerts by Tina, as well as beautiful pictures. I know that I've seen some of these performances on her "Break every rule" video-which is great. I guess my Mom was right on 1 thing that's great about Tina, that she don't hold nothing back, she performs, she gives it all she's got. And this collection proves that. Bravo! March 25, 2001
