About Method Man - Tical 2000: Judgement Day
The Wu-Tang warrior's second solo joint is so conceptually huge, only somebody who's been high every day for a decade could have imagined it: hip-hop album as science-fiction double-feature as celebrity parade as horror movie as multilayered masquerade as an endlessly Baroque flow of spiels and skits, hallucinatory fantasy, and killer-bee menace. The romantic strains of Tical have been replaced by pure, sweaty sex, and Meth's image transformation from laidback muscle to bloodthirsty cyborg (with a phone book's worth of guest stars) just means he compacts his flow more tightly. The production is the Wu standard of berserk little loops and spare boom-bap, though RZA's tracks are head and shoulders above those of his disciples. --Douglas Wolk Amazon.com

I don't listen to much rap, because not all of it is that great, but Tical 2000 is the best I have heard in a long time. Method Man doesn't over do it and doesn't under do it. He mixes it up for people of all ages. Method Man really got it going, especially with Perfect World.
November 9, 1999This Album was a big disappointment. There are about two slammin hits that will get my crowd jumpin' but the others just need a little help. I'm pretty sure Method got something up his sleeve for the future, for one hook-up with Redman. You'll get paid.

I love the two songs judgement day and make ups to breaks ups with d'angelo. I think his whole cd is off the hook! It is the bomb! I love you methodman and all your cds. I think you are one of the most artist rappers there is!
February 11, 1999 | | a dissapointment compared to his last one . | |
what is this? Meth was so raw and hard-core on his first album and then this.i was really disapointed when i heard this. This was the one rapper i expeected to keep it real. and what the hell is with the cyborg gear?

This album was a lot better than his first two; "Judgement Day"{the first single} is the crowning jewel of this one. "Cradle Rock"{which features the one mc of the soul group TLC, Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes} is a strong performance. The skits are mad funny; "You Play Too Much", from Chris Rock, is hilarious. "Message From Penny", done by Janet Jackson is also pretty funny. Where's Method Man was cool.
