I listened to the CD not knowing anything about Tone-Loc and was pleasantly surprised by "Wild Thing" which is a song I had heard before but had completely forgot about. Tone has a very unique voice which is key in Hip Hop, but I was initially thrown off by how raspy his voice was. After another listen through or two Tone's style started to grow on me and I started really liking it. While Tone does not have the most inspiring and profound lyrics, what he has is good especially when combined with his very smooth delivery. Production-wise the CD has a very Funky feel to it, with the occasional electric guitar thrown in on few tracks. Some tracks that I really dug are "Loc'ed After Dark", "Cuttin Rhythms", "On Fire", and the instrumental "Loc'in on the Shaw". Overall, a very good CD with a funky cool sense of style. I recommend it to all hip hop fans.
