User Reviews
Average user review:When released in the fall of 1998 (during the popular Christmas rush), Mariah Carey already had an impressive number of hit singles on the chart, of which a remarkable 13 (more than half of her hits at that point) hit the top spot. As of this writing, Mariah has since had 5 more songs go to #1, and a couple others chart pretty high, making this collection incomplete. However, this is a great introduction to her career.
The other songs on here (newly recorded for this release) are pretty good too. The best, without a doubt, is her cover of "I Still Believe," which is a touchingly beautiful song. Mariah obviously tried to make this a must buy for her more hardcore fans as well as her more casual fans who just wanted her hits on one release. Thankfully, it succeeds both ways.
While this is not a perfect collection (it leaves out hit songs that did not go to the top), this is the best there is as of this review. Until a more complete greatest hits is released (despite what she says in the liner notes, this IS a greatest hits album), this is a good place to begin. April 19, 2008
Mariah / #1's
In the most part this is a relaxing Cd. I especially like the duets with the other artists. I'm glad I bought this one, highly recommended. March 8, 2008
Mariah's Classic Songs
I have always been a Mariah Carey fan, ever since I heard her debut song "Vision Of Love" on the radio. From that day on, I have always enjoyed her music. Now when the year 2000 reached, I seemed not much into her music anymore. Maybe the Glitter movie was to much? I am not sure. But if your wanting to know why Mariah Carey collected a total of #13 number one hits by 1998, this album is for you. Even though it does not include her 2 1999 hits "Heartbreaker" and "Thank God I Found You". I would recommend this to any new Mariah Carey fan. It also includes the Top 5 hit "I Still Believe" and duet with Whitney Houston "When You Believe". This album includes all the number one hits like: Dreamlover,Hero,Always Be My Baby,One Sweet Day,Love Takes Time,Vision Of Love,Fantasy, and many more. Make sure you pick up a copy of this album by Mariah Carey! February 29, 2008
This CD is wonderful yet I don't understand why they released it AND a greatest hits with 95% of the same material. ???
These songs are golden, especially My All, Sweetheart, Whenever You Call, Honey, I Still Believe, Always Be My Baby, One Sweet Day, Hero, Fantasy, Vision of Love (2nd best), Dreamlover (favorite song ever), I'll Be There (3rd best song here) and Emotions.
Mariah is in a category of Her own and I wish her new album will be worth a 4/5 star rating (at least) =^).
Good Luck, Boo.

Mariah Medley
This is a good Mariah compilation. Solid mix of dance and R & B music, with pop attibutes at times and a little rap thrown in other times. Showcase of Mariah's stuff up to that time. Notable songs:
Sweetheart - good bounce to it, an airy tune
Honey - fun and lively, good groove
Fantasy - fun tune from mid-90s that makes the listener want to dance around. Good beat. Showcases Mariah's soprano
Dreamlover
Emotions - very good showcase of Mariah's vocal range and the power of her voice. Funky piano in there.
Someday - Mariah's first "big one" from 1990 I think. Great tune, infectious pop with a hard edge. Mariah's powerful voice with its big range was already on display in her early 20s. June 13, 2007
