About RZA - RZA as Bobby Digital in Stereo
Unlike their predecessors, who each released about an album a year, Master P and the Wu-Tang Clan dominated the mid to late 1990s with a hailstorm of discs that saturated the rap marketplace. RZA, the Wu's über-producer, added to the storm with Bobby Digital in Stereo, the soundtrack for a straight-to-video film directed, produced, and written by RZA under the alter ego Bobby Digital. Whether he's able to compete with Master P on the cinematic front remains to be seen, but the project surely confirms RZA's mastery of the production studio and of the hip-hop domain in general. Without sounding too threatening or gangsta, RZA--er, Digital--lays down street-lethal beats and rhythms that resonate with a futuristic cyberpunk theme. And while the songs are fairly free of melody, there are plenty of atmospheric keyboard noises, sound effects, and samples to keep things pumping. --Jon Wiederhorn Amazon.com

| Good stuff from the producing power of the Wu Tang |
Most critics or WU worshippers have had a cry about this album not being done in a "traditional wu tang method". However, who said that ANY Wu-Tang should sound the same for it to work? Hip Hop is diverse, and the RZA took his own steps to making his album unique and original, even if he did experiment with beats and samples. Get over yourself, seriously, high horse business will have you miss out on a great hip hop album.
The only problem with Bobby Digital is the amount of guests. Every member of the clan appears on the CD, and almost every member appears on at least two songs. A bit too much for me, but It's nice to have a variety. Each contributing artist is tight lyrically and add value to this CD.
Get it if you are a wu tang fan, expect to have a slight detour of the traditional (up to the point of this album) of the wu tang sound and you wont be dissapointed.
