It's hard to believe that the most well known track on this album is the weakest. That notwithstanding this album is as near perfection as one could imagine or hope for. I bought a vinyl copy some 30 years ago and it still enthralls and moves me. The production, lyrical content and execution is a shining beacon in the wastelands of modern day R+B. Like all Perfect Angels you are a comet amongst the stars Minnie, still dazzling us with your brightness years after you passed by and long after other stars have faded
February 24, 2004I was only a little pup when she died, but even then I knew and loved her classic "Lovin You". Years later, after I went through my teeny pop days (NKOTB) and my rap days (NWA) and neither really made me feel good or inspired me. I needed something more. Something more lasting. Something more real. That's when I found Minnie after someone introduced me to jazz and classic R&B. And for the past two years, I have been searching for all her cds and materials. I really hope her label release her last 3 cds. But let me just say, Mariah or Chante can't touch Minnie. If you want proof, get this cd. 30 years later, NO R&B cd release in the 90s have come close to the greatest of "Perfect Angel". This cd is too perfect. Get it now.

this Album is something else.Minnie Riperton has Deniece Williams another Dynomite Singer,Michael Sembello a Solid Session Musician who was a part of Stevie Wonder's Band&Who later went on to do Songs for Films&a ton of other Session work. then there is Stevie who Musically clicked really strongly with Minnie&Her range.the title cut alone is pure Magic.the arrangements, harmonys&Musicianship are all Strong to me.it's the kind of Album where things all fell into place really well.Minnie Riperton was a Great Vocalist&Writer.I'd take Her over anything that is out now without thinking twice.

was this album back in 1974. With the hit single "Lovin' You" leading the way, Minnie put together an album that exposed the world to this fine singer-songwriter. It's an original work, one that could be called "Neo-Soul" for its time. Minnie touches on a wide range of influences with this project. The rockin' "Everytime He Comes Around," the jazzy "Take a Little Trip," the "Stevie Wonderish" "Perfect Angel." All the tunes are interpreted in a unique, special way and Minnie touches your soul through her amazing voice, the voice of an angel. Those who thought Minnie was a one hit wonder found out otherwise with her second album, "Adventures in Paradise" which further showcased her original talent, a talent we still miss to this day. "Perfect Angel" is just that: PERFECT IN EVERY WAY and a CLASSIC!
