Headhunter is not the best song of Front 242, but this is their best "Single". A lot of different kind of mixes, from the darkest to the dancest. A CD to enjoy...

I love the music of Front 242. I consider it some of the best music I've ever heard. Headhunter, however, is not my favorite piece of work, and this is too damn much of one song.
The remixes are good for the most part, but you have to listen to each one seperately to appreciate them. If you just throw the cd on, by the time you get past the third or fourth track OF THE FIRST DISC, you're sick of hearing the same song over and over and over and over.
Don't get me wrong, I like the mixes on here, they are worth hearing, but it's almost painful to have to listen to 17 versions of the same song. If you're a dj looking for a new way to play an old song, or if (like most Front 242 fans) you NEED to get everything they put out, then get it. Otherwise, save your money. August 6, 2001
This offering from Metropolis is riveting and satisfying, and although a tad monotonous - ROCKING!!!!!!!!!!

This is a classic song by a band that I like, remixed 17 times and packaged in a double-cd set (for the price of about a normal album). Great idea, I'm a remix freak so I figure I'll like at least some of the mixes....and some were in fact OK. NONE of the 17 did I like more than the original version from 10+ years ago (and the original version isn't included either). Decent remixes: Front Line Assembly, Talla 2XL, Doug Laurent, Empirion, Suspicious and Space Frog. But none of them blew me away, and most of the remixes were monotonous and uninspired. For hardcore Front 242 fans only. Most mixes are closer to the sound of UP EVIL then to their older albums.
July 6, 2000My favorite song is Headhunter, and this album is certainly the epitome of greatness in remixing. Front Line Assembly's excellent RMX kicks off the album, with a version of the song that is still similar to the original, yet has an FLA feel to it...which is great, because FLA is my favorite band. Doug Laurent's RMX is great, because it focuses on the string notes from the chorus, which is the best part of the song, and makes them sound more natural. True greatness. Apoptygma Berzerk's RMX is sonic manic depression, Empirion's RMX is absolutely brimming with energy (and it makes EXCEPTIONAL use of the new vocal track recorded by Jean-Luc de Meyer and Richard 23), and Space Frog's RMX is totally different from the orignal, yet most excellent. Buy this for certain....
