Don't be put off by the title of the second session. Frank Wess and Bobby Jaspar are the flute players but they don't play on the same tracks. It's Bobby on tracks 9&15 and Frank on tracks 10-14 Kenny Burrell is on all tracks but doesn't always solo. BALLADS AND BLUES is 8 tracks with 3 different groups. 2 tunes feature Lucky Thompson 3 have Barney Kessel and 3 have a woodwind section arranged by Ralph Burns.----Very early Atlantic recordings from the mid 1950's
November 28, 2008"The song "Hello" from the album Ballads and Blues does not appear on this CD due to time restrictions." This is the info I got on the CD AFTER I bought it. Any fan of Bags will be sorely disappointed that the beautiful duet with Lucky Thompson and Milt is absent. Luckily for me I have the original album, which, of course, I have downloaded to CD.
