I've been getting beyond sick and tired on how many people think this album sucks because he didn't play slapbass. So the f*** what! For crying out loud, the man just wanted to try something a little different for a change. I will say the writing method was definitely different, but it was still good. The songs had more of a relaxed feel to them, whereas "Pamela" and "Changing the Guard" rocked a bit more. Just check it out if you liked the more mellow recordings of Level 42. September 27, 2007

The first two tracks are outstanding. 'Bitter moon' is a lovely AOR acoustic orientated rock song and has a lovely melody. 'Swimming with the sky' is extremely atmospheric and has a soaring melody, similar to 'take a look' or 'staring at the sun'. Really melodic ballad. @Resupply' is also a lovely ballad.
I find 'One man' tuneless and 'pamela' horrid.
The rest is all merely ok. September 4, 2006

What a wonderful collection of profound, thought provoking songs. Mark King's album One Man inspires one to relax and reflect on their own lives. Mark King can stand alone without the screech of Mike Lindup. I believe the absense of Mike's soprano like voice gives this album a more sultry yet calming feel. I've been a fan for many, many years. The states miss you, Mark! Level 42 has been revamped and is touring again in Europe. They still have MANY die hard fans in the U.S. Please consider expanding your tour agenda to include America.

I've just purchased my second copy of the album. I love it. Bravo! July 8, 2004

Eu simplesmente recomendo!! March 29, 2003
