I'm excited about this CD, "SONGBIRDS AT SUNRISE". So is my cat. She loves to hear the birds chirping and I love the soothing background music. When I ask her if she wants to "hear the birdies" she jumps up onto my lap and we both are eventually swept off to dreamland for a while. So relaxing. One of the best of the many compositions that Dan Gibson and his crew have done. Two others by Gibson that I have and like really well (as much as this one) are "GREAT LAKES SUITE" and "ATLANTIC SUITE." When it comes to sprinkling stars on these CD's, I'd need the Milky Way for starters!
September 21, 2008 | | Sunny, gentle office music - relaxing, but lifts the mental pace a hair | |
This is one of my top selections for "gentle audio" background music for calming and focusing influence while doing office or computer work.
True to the "Sunrise" name, this the album has a gentle but light, sunny feel. Sliding alongside the songbirds' morning tunes are not only John Herberman's piano, but also bits of guitar, flute, oboe, flutes, and even a gentle harmonica. It feels like taking a walk on a sunny morning.
I enjoy a couple of other Solitudes albums featuring John Herberman's piano--"Forest Piano" and "Piano Cascades"--but "Songbirds at Sunrise" is the one I select when I need to pick up the mental pace a hair (and fear the others, much as I love them, might just lull me to sleep).
August 12, 2008My daughter and I often walk through the woods near her home feeding birds and watching for deer. We then make slideshows but on one of our ventures we needed the sound of birds singing and chirping to make our CD slideshow more authentic. I listened to a number of CDs and found "Songbirds at Sunrise" the best. It made a beautiful presentation.I would recommend this beautiful CD to anyone who loves the sound of birds singing their hearts out.
October 24, 2007This CD fails a threshhold test: the title is grossly misleading. It is NOT "Songbirds at Sunrise," but bird song overlaid with human music. I bought it because I wanted birdsong, and was beyond disappointed. If you want birdsong together with elevator music, buy it. I would have given it zero stars but that was not an option.
May 25, 2007I love this CD. I own a small retail store and play it as background music. My customers love it. At first, they don't realize it's a CD, but when they do, they all want a copy. I purchased one for my grandson, 7, who wakes up cranky. His mom plays it for him to wake him up, so that he listens to the beautiful birds before he's out of bed. This is really a nice CD.
