User Reviews
Average user review:| If you like late '50's, early 60's teen hits, this one's for you... |
| this album makes me dance around the house... |
The album starts with "Rubber Ball." Bobby sings this really wonderfully; his voice is strong, very masculine and appealing to teens of the day. The musical interlude is comparatively brief but it also works very well. I really like "Angels In The Sky;" this features Bobby at his best--he never sounded better. Moreover, listen for "Long Lonely Nights;" Bobby's interpretation of this ballad stuns me with its beauty. The backup vocalists and the strings enhance the number but Bobby's performance makes "Long Lonely Nights" a masterpiece!
"Devil Or Angel" is a smooth, romantic ballad that will make couples want to slow dance even today; and of course "Poetry In Motion" remains one of Bobby's greatest hits ever. Bobby sings this with all his heart and soul; and this impresses me a lot. Bobby's peppy version of "Mister Sandman" features great use of the percussion and Bobby sings this to perfection!
"Take Good Care Of My Baby" is a stunning number and when Bobby sings this it shines just as brilliantly as it ever did. "Run To Him" is another romantic ballad but of course it is melancholy. Bobby never sings a superfluous note. "The Night Has A Thousand Eyes" has one of the most beautiful arrangements I've ever heard. This excellent, teen pop tune still sounds passionate today as Bobby sings it as only he could.
The packaging by Collectibles is excellent; and I like the artwork.
Overall, Bobby Vee fans are going to love this CD! Even the casual fan will almost certainly recognize several of the tracks on this album. I highly recommend this CD.
