User Reviews
Average user review:| Doc Severinsen Can Do A Lot More Than Blues |
Amazon found out I liked Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Frank Sinatra from the '50s, even Lawrence Welk 22 Big Band Favorites.
Amazon found out I liked the "Tonight Show Band" Volume 1 and then Volume 2.
"Doc" has got Dixie, he's got ragtime, he knows about gospel, and he obviously has studied everything beginning with Duke Ellington and from there on.
This album has a LOT of the sheer glory of BRASS but it also has a LOT of the glory of DRUMS and many other things (such as vocalists).
With this album from Doc, the Big Bands have come of age! Big Bands have all grown up and are yours for the taking. February 3, 2001
