Puff Daddy - Forever

When MC Lyte rapped "Beat biter / Dope style taker / Tell you to your face you ain't nothing but a faker," she wasn't referring to Puff Daddy, but those words may have echoed in the brains of many non-NY producers--especially those from New Orleans and the Bay Area--upon hearing the bad boy don's second solo effort, Forever. For much of the latter part of the '90s, many New York rappers have included a couple of token G-funk or bounce-influenced tracks on their albums, but on Forever, Puff takes it to extremes, with almost half the album falling into that category. One would think that Puff's lazy, unskilled drawl would fit perfectly with the foreign sonics, but instead, his mumbling is more blatant, twitching erratically like the proverbial fish out of water, especially on cuts like "What You Want" and "Satisfy You" (where he loops the Luniz' classic "I Got 5 On It"). Where he sticks to the usual plan, he pulls it off steadily, and on "Journey Through the Life," a powerful posse cut with Nas, Beanie Sigel, and Lil' Kim, he's created a NY thug cut par excellence. very good cd

i was turned on by some parts, and turned off by others....
i have to give it 5 stars because the man knows his ish...i have the tape...but i will probably buy the cd at some point...

but everytime, i try to build up my tape and music collection, ish gets stolen...

Fake, Wannabe Rapper Whose Just an Idiot!

This cd flopped and the reasons are all too obvious. First, I am glad that it did. Second, this idiot has no talent. I can't stand him because he thinks he is "it", has a taste and desire for white women and spanish chicks like j.ho, and makes himself look like a fool for sweating her slutty ***. He has no morals, either-2 bastards out of wedlock, more than likely more that we don't know about or probably paid some off to abort, while parading around with his 2 bastard kids. Not only that, the fact that he has to sample other people's music and most of his songs are samples from true musicians says alot about this idiot and his so-called "talent". I don't care how much people stress that we need to support our own successfuly Black people, this idiot gets on my nerves, loves the white or light chicks, and does nothing for me, except to be a true, everlasting annoyance! Forever better then No Way Out

P.Diddy's sophmore album is way better then his debut album "No Way Out".Even though this cd was not well promoted and has bad reviews this LP is much better then No way Out.Every song is hot with great beats and lyrically Diddy is good. Also with the great guests on this album it makes this LP a classic in my books. November 27, 2004

Forget Diamonds, P. Diddy is FOREVER!!

This CD is BLAZING!! Straight up, it's lyrical and musical FIRE!! HOT!! P. Diddy takes Hip Hop to another level on this album. It's more introspective and personal than No Way Out, as Diddy admits his sins and channels his rhymes in a direction of social awareness, something unprecedented in the Rap game. He even continues to make hot songs as well. "Satisfy You" is the biggest hit, using a clever Club Noveau sample ("I Got 5 On It" by 1 Hit Wonders The Luniz is WACK compared to this!!) to illustrate his love for that special someone. It's not quite the frenetic party of No Way Out, but a SLEPT-ON CLASSIC nonetheless.
