About The Temptations - 20th Century Masters: The Millennium Collection Vol. 1/The '60s (The Best of the Temptations)
The closest thing currently available to the Tempts' first Greatest Hits album, this CD actually provides partial redemption for the generally redundant Millennium Collection series. Sticking with one exception (the ambiguous drug song "Cloud Nine") to the group's '60s love songs, it's a quick reminder of what made them such a major part of radio-listening romancers' lives then and now. From the sweet "My Girl" and "The Way You Do the Things You Do" to the rough-edged, nearly paranoid "(I Know) I'm Losing You," these hits demonstrate the many ways Motown knew to say "I love you." --Rickey Wright Amazon.com

It's clear that Motown/Universal is once again doing what they do so well: repackaging the same old hits that everyone has already on other Tempts CDs with a shiny, new look, because they know that it is pretty much classic Motown music like this that is keeping the ghost of this once-great label from going under! I gave this CD three stars only because The Tempts are one of my favorite groups and I like the songs on it, but honestly, this is a waste. Do NOT buy this CD - spend your money on ANTHOLOGY or the original albums instead, where the work of this magificent group can be better represented and appreciated. January 5, 2003
