A great album for those who are interested in the types of songs we had helping us get through each day of WW II. The theme of many of them express the doubt and fear that we likely would not see our loved ones again. We lived for the day during those years, because there was a good chance that tomorrow would never come. Vera Lynn is an excellent singer and she delivers these songs as good as it gets. Everytime I visit England, I think about this era in history and recall the songs she made popular during that time. May 14, 2007

Vera Lynn is a National Treasure! A true Master... her talent, voice, control, feeling, skill, quality, all come through on this CD. I am hard pressed to think of any female artist that can compare to her greatness... The themes take you back to a time of true heroism and sacrifice. The experience of the "Greatest Generation" is expressed in every song... a snapshot of history in music! I love it! April 27, 2007

This remarkable woman, who has for man years taken up the fight to improve the plight of children suffering from cerebral palsy, sounds as good on this recording as ever she did. Some people think that Very Lynn and Churchill won the war - and it might be true! The songs bring tears to the eyes, even if the hearer is too young to remember World War II. The clarity of her voice still astounds. January 10, 2007
