Overall, a good album. I didn't find any of the songs particulary exciting. Some albums have that one song you cannot get enough of? This one doesn't, not for me. That is why not the 5th etoile. I guess you could say the talent was equally divided to all tracks and not to just one song, like other artists tend to do.
A couple songs were different.

Ma libertie contre la tienne - Good song, good yet subtile sound effects, the ending of the song is excellent.

Une femme comme d'autre - Good, but except for the chorus, the song almost sounds like she is making it up as she goes along. Not that it is bad, but it sound just a bit off beat.

Si tu r?ves - If I were to pick a favorite, this would perhaps be it.

The Cd has a really nice cover, the inlay booklet includes the lyrics and photos of Patricia. Lyrics are helpful if you study French language like I do. The singing is slow and relaxed.
I have yet to hear all her releases, so I can't recommend this above all the others, but this one is better than "Dans ma chair", where all the writing talent was spent on two songs. April 23, 2006

I'm surprised that this is not one of Kaas' most popular albums. After hearing "Une femme comme une autre" on a various artists album, I was immediately hooked on Kaas voice and style of music. My entire french music collection is now based around her albums. I simply can't find another female french artist whom I like so completely!

My personal favorites on this album are:

#4: J'attend de nous: this is a very subtle, yet addicting song. It builds and builds musically, and then Patricia's voice accompanies the increasing tempo. In short, it's a song you'll want to listen to again and again.

#7: La Cle: This is a sort of rock song. I slightly head-bang to this song. The rhythm is more intense than #4, and again, the music itself perfectly accompanies Kaas' voice.

#9: Quand je t'oublie: This is a rather slow song and it took me a few times to like it. I like the end of the song best, when Kaas breaks her usual rhythm and incorporates variations in her voice.

#10: Une femme comme une autre: this is by far my favorite song on the album. Musically, it stays on an even tempo, and any variations are very subtle. This is a song that demonstates very well the power of Kaas' voice. I love the part of the chorus where she sings: "au bord de l'amor, au bord de l'amor," which means "on the verge" or "on the edge of love." Kaas really guides the music, instead of the music guiding her--pure genius!

#11: Les chansons commencement: this is another song that took me awhile to like. There are frequent rises and ebbs in the tempo of the music and in her voice, which frustrated me at first, but now I like it. The end of the song is very good, too; it sounds like chanting, but I'm not sure what it is.

Overall, this is a good album and a good investment to make, if you already like or are interested in french music. And who in their right mind would't? I am honored to be the first one to rate this album. Also check out Julien Clerc, who is an outstanding male french singer! Au revoir! ;-)
