I purcased this cd when I was in London back in 1999. One of my friends who lives there introduced me to it. She was mega popular out there. The cd was the best seller at every store, & even sold in every grocery store. It freaked me out that they sell best selling cds in grocery stores. I loved this cd so much. I never listened to anything as much as this cd. She like Kylie is an actress & was in a soap opera. She's done broadway plays like My Fair Lady. She had a follow up cd which featured a remake of Donna Summer's( my all time favoite vocalist) On The Radio. This cd was a major disappointment. She also decided to end her singing career. However, she did a compilation of showtunes, called musicality. This really showed her vocal ability. If your into romance pick up You, me, & Us. It's one of the most romantic cds I've ever heard, & so much more. By the way she plays the lead opposite Hugh Grant in Love Actually. She's not credited on the dvd cover, problably because she's a foreign actress.
August 4, 2006I bought this on a lark -- I'm an Eastenders fan and I picked up Martine's bio on a trip to the U.K. -- mainly to enjoy the trashy descriptions of the artist's recording sessions...
Guess what? It's REALLY GOOD! You'll listen to it over and over!
You go, Martine! June 5, 2002
I just felt that i sound make a comment on this CD. I absolutely adore this CD. I recently found my cd in my brothers draw and felt that iwas time that i resurrected it. i saw on my bed to listen to it and for 50 minutes did nothing else, such are th of the tracks and martines voice.
April 4, 2001Every so often a CD comes along which blows you away; which lives up to every expectation, and then gives you even more. This is such a CD. There are no moments where you feel the need for the next track button; every one of the 12 songs demands your full attention. And at least 4 come into the category of wondering what life was ever like before you heard them. Life stops for 50 minutes while this CD is playing. Martine's voice is breathtaking throughout, and handles the album's mix of ballads and up tempo tracks with seemingly effortless ease. My own personal favourite is Tremble, followed very closely by Talking in your Sleep. But to pick favourites on an album packed with gems just does not seem right. Oh, and she is absolutely gorgeous! I have still not washed my hand since I met her at the album's launch in London last year. My photo with Martine hangs proudly on my wall. If this review sounds more like a fan letter, then I do apologise. I don't normally do this kind of thing. But this is one instance where I'm going to allow myself to get away with it. This is a truly great CD, and even if you have never heard of Martine before, fans of quality pop need look no further for something very special. Enjoy!

I fell in love with "Perfect Moment" the moment I heard it. It's a beautiful song. Other songs that are great are "Love Me", "I've Got You", "Talking In Your Sleep". Give it a try. Although, the import price is high, you'll enjoy every single minute of it.
