This sound track is highly recommended. July 14, 2006
| wonderful, the best |
I first perked an interest into his work when watching alexander. I later found my way to 1492 conquest of paradise. I made my choice based on reviews that held high praise of this work. Which i agree.
I can not notice that 1492 and alexander sound so similar despite being different pieces of work (one being less synthetic than the other).
The 2nd track is the highlight. If you closely listen it sounds very similar to track 12 or 13 of alexander (across the mountains). Same tune for the voices but it is more varied in Alexander.
Track 3 monastry of rabida is another excellent piece, i personally think it sounds similar to a cirque dis solei soundtrack when it reaches the end.
The use of the choir is of high standard (except track 5, light and dark, tracks 9 and 10).
The use of synthesisers may annoy some people but track 8 (eternity - will make you think otherwise, once you pass the annoying start)
i also am not a real fan of 'new age' music, but vangelis makes it an exceptional listen. Highly recommended for those who want a powerful listening experience. March 30, 2006
| Very good ! |
Was this "conquest" really good or bad ?
I like computers, but I do not like all the ways computers are employed for, for example, for controlling people.
Well, the music of this CD is very beautiful anyway.
Sometimes I don't know why I am the first reviewer of some albums/books. This is one example. Although I am not a big listener of Vangelis's works, I can say you that I think this album is special. To me it is Vangelis at his best.
Nice compositions by Vangelis. Very beautiful tracks.
Ah, this album contains the tracks of the movie "1492: The Conquest of the Paradise" August 19, 2005
