I actually had a vinyl copy of the "Purple People Eater" when I was a child, so I was thrilled to find this CD. I'll admit I bought it just to get Purple People Eater, but I was surprised to find that I could sit through the entire CD and just enjoy it. It's not just Purple People Eater and a lot of garbage, but rather just a whole lot of fun.

Particularly interesting are the "sequels" to Purple People Eater. Sheb seems to have tried to capitalize on his novelty hit several times. I never knew these songs existed.

And, Sheb wasn't just a novelty act. He did a number of country folksie sounding songs that were just plain good wholesome 1950's to early 60's male pop vocalist sounding stuff.

So, come for the Purple People Eater, but don't just eat and run. Stay around for the whole platter. April 30, 2007

You'll love this funny C.D, which is packed with great songs! I love Purple people eater, and my whole family is always listening to it! Think of a mix of any of the "Space Ghost Coast to Coast" C.D.s and young childrens story C.D.s, and this is the outcome. The only reason I left out the 5th star is because it IS a tad expensive, BUT worth the money! So, BUY BUY BUY!!!!!! March 25, 1999
