17 track Best Of from the lead singer of Bronski Beat and the Communards, originally released in 1991, no longer available domestically. Both of those groups are represented here as well as some of Jimmy's solo songs. Jimmy's distinctive falsetto voice could not be mistaken for any other. Bronski Beat had six UK hits but only the first four are included here. The four that made it are 'Small Town Boy', an unlikely medley (with Marc Almond) of Donna Summer's 'I Feel Love', 'Johnny Remember Me', 'Why' and 'It Ain't Necessarily So'. The Communards had a UK #1 hit with 'Don't Leave Me This Way'. Other hits included here include 'Never Can Say Goodbye', 'So Cold The Night', 'You Are My World', 'Disenchanted', 'Tomorrow', 'For A Friend' and 'There's More To Love'. Jimmy had five UK hits without either group, the biggest of which was 'You Make Me Feel Mighty Real'. A cover of 'To Love Somebody' (Bee Gees) made the UK Top Ten. 'Comment Te Dire Adieu', 'Read My Lips' and 'Run From Love' round out this collection. Brilliant

As a fellow gay man, but mostly as a lover of good music, especially that written by another gay man, this CD really hit home when I first purchased it back in 1992. Some 16 years later, it still sounds as fresh and vital today as when I first heard it. Excellent dance songs, but also some very catchy love songs with a pop flare. A fine, fine collection of music by a very talented man from England. Well worth owning. November 2, 2008

Timeless Classic

I have had this album since 1990, 9 years, and still every time i play it i get a great kick ...

this is one for any collector of classic uk pop artists, also goes great with the house martins and beautiful south March 30, 1999

An excellent collection of songs, giving us the best of JS.

This album spans a broad time span and gives us the very best of Jimmy's vocal range and musical styles. I really enjoy listening to it, time and time again! August 4, 1998
