Very Traditional
One of my favorites.
I used to read to my grand mother a book that was in Spanish and Latin. She never complained about the mass in the vernacular as now; but I always wondered how the Latin mass was.
I was looking for a CD like this for a long time, and am glad I found it. I like the quality of all the songs, the sung epistle and gospel, the beautiful preface.
I also bought the 1962 roman missal also here from amazon, and thus can follow everything from the mass with the translation in English.
I loved it, and I do wish for the traditional mass to return. I believe that along all other rites of the Catholic Church (The current one, The Bizantine, the Maronite, the Greek orthodox, The benedictine, etc.) it belongs to the world's heritage. January 1, 2007
Great Training Aid (and Enjoyable to boot!)
I am much more comfortable in partipating in the prayer of the mass in latin after repeated listening to this CD. As a bonus, the Ave Maria is wonderful, as is the chanted Pater Noster.
Incidentally, the CD Abba Pater features an excellent track featuring the late John Paul II chanting the same Pater Noster, followed by a male choir praying it again, wonderfully orchestrated. I highly recommend this CD as well. November 20, 2005
