This is without a doubt one of the best Movie-Soundtrack's that was ever put to CD. Yes, there were maany others like "Sweet Dreams", which was Excellent, but the (Only) downfall was Jessica Lange doing the "Voice Overs" -- On the other hand, in Cole Miner's Daughter, Sissy Spacek did a "SUPERB" Job in singing Loretta Lynn's songs. Sissy Spacek stated that when she was "Really Singing" all of Loretta Lynn's Songs, it just came out like "nothing" -- I read alot about Sissy doing the real singing, and "not" Voiceover's", and TONS of people comment "that" Sissy Spacek actually sung Loretta Lynns songs BETTER then Loretta Lynn, herself. It is a matter of opinion, but I will say this.... Sissy Spacek did this movie with much integrety,as well as Tommy Lee Jones back in 79'-80'. Sissy stated that she Used Loretta Lynn's real Tour Bus, her real Clothes & gowns -- Not to mention she "Sissy" Sang her Heart out in this Movie "Cole Miner's Daughter". I do not amaze easy, but hearing Sissy Spacek do ALL Loretta's songs in the movie, practically (Live) they say- with no "shoot direction" is AMAZING. Loretta Lynn is wonderful. Beverly DeAngelo was about the only person that had the voice to "Pull" off, once again-- (REAL) singing by playing the Great Patsy Cline in this movie, this is how they became friends in real life. The movie sums it up for the most part, and it's almost 99% true, word for word... thats what is so AMAZING. To this day in 2008, Sissy Spacek "Chuckeles" when asked about "Cole Miner's Daughter"- Per her interview/commentary on the 25th Annivirsary Edition DVD, released in 2006. She tells "all" about the movie, as well as Tommy Lee Jones. SISSY IS AMAZING!!!!!! BUY THIS CD, it's 98% Sissy Spacek & Bevery DeAngelo -- Flat Out. Amazing Voices....

This is an excellent soundtrack. My brother had the album years ago and I waited for many more years for it to become available on CD. Sissy Spacek and Co. do a unbelievable job of singing the country classics and in some cases actually improve upon the original versions! Stand out cuts are 'There He Goes', 'I'm a Honky Tonk Girl' and 'I'm Back In Baby's Arms'. If your a fan of Loretta Lynn and Patsy Cline you should definitely check this out, it will surprise you!

I'm very pleased with the CD, I'd previously owned it on vinyl but it got lost. I like all of the soundtrak but my favourite track is Levon Helm's rendition of 'Amazing Grace', it is also great to hear Sissy Spacek sing the Lorretta Lynn songs.

Although Sissy Spacek makes for a very convincing Loretta Lynn on this album, the fact that they use Beverly D'Angelo sing Patsy's songs and NOT use Patsy's original vocals was a big mistake. Beverly's voice is not that great and fails greatly in comparison to Patsy's (but who's doesn't?) I think it would have been wiser to use Patsy's recordings. Overall, the soundtrack is OK- but, of course, the original Loretta and Patsy is much better!

I LOVE this cd soundtrack. I also LOVE the movie and can't watch it enough. I love Sissy Spacek in it, and Tommy Lee Jones, and thought Sissy was extremely talented, not only with acting, but vocally on this. I bought Loretta Lynn's CD but I like this one better, no offense to those Loretta Lynn Fans, but this cd with Sissy singing just makes me feel like singing to it, and it puts me in a great mood. Excellent cd soundtrack, excellent movie, a must have, both cd and movie.
