This is raw, unpolished Thursday - before "Cross Out The Eyes" started getting radio time and way before "Signals Over The Air" had us fist pumping at their shows. My favorite here is "Dying in New Brunswick" - a powerful, dramatic song that Geoff just kills vocally at the end. Thursday would rock out "This Side of Brightness" occasionally live, but it's not the same without the violins.
Bottom line, this is great way to understand how Thursday got to where they are now.
PS - The prose in the booklet is worth reading.
September 12, 2008this album is very raw....you can tell that the songs were written and originally played in geoff's basement...it has that...garage/basement high school band sound to it...but as i mentioned...a great start...anyone interested in thursday should pick up this album just to see where they got their start...some people say this is their best and only good album...but those people don't know what they're talking about...their just up on their "look at me!!! i started listening to them when waiting came out!!!" pedistal...so dont let those people tell you this is the only thursday album to own...its a great album...but not their best
January 2, 2008This is the first Thursday CD I bought about 3 or 4 years ago. I fell in love with the band and bought all their albums. But "Waiting" really stands out from the rest as being truly raw and full of emotion. Geoffs voice is amazing and you can really feel him when he sings. Standout songs are obviously Porcelain, I love how they included violins on This Side of Brightness, and Ian Curtis and The Dotted Line are also great. If you are new to Thursday you should probably buy War All the Time first, then work your way back.
February 12, 2006I wouldn't give this album a full 5 stars, more like 4.5. I actually bought Full Collapse and War All The Time before I bought this album, so it has been interesting to hear the beginning after the middle. I love the roughness and rawness of this record in its production, and I would highly recommend it to any Thursday fan who doesn't have it yet. Can't wait for their new album!

Waiting is by far Thursday's best album. There is absolutly nothing like hearing Geoff yell "Love has torn us apart". This cd is great ...without a doubt the most raw and emotional of all their releases.
