This album is a perfect collection of the ultra trendy, coffee house, night at home, post collegiate sound that permiated top 40s electronica in 2000. Not that this is a bad thing, however if your thinking this is rave on a disk, your saddly wrong. THis album is more suited to background music for making dinner, or cleaning up the house. The sound quality of the album is very crisp, and it was masterd at a decent volume level. The selection of music on it is ecclectic to say the least. Its mixed by "some faceless bloke" (props to anyone who gets the joke) and it mixes up light chilled out tracks like "One Octave Down" with hard abrasive techno tracks like "Class Action." and somehow makes it work. Disk one'ss conclusion starts off with a hard drum & bass version of Estero's "Breath from Another" and mixes it into of all things; calypso with a tinge of a christmas carol... Yeah Im not kidding. SO whoever this faceless bloke is, he has some sort of musical schizophrenia... Well anyway if your looking for a nice album, that does stay interesting, and provides nice background to activities in a home frequented by 4th year in college ex-ravers that have alot of IKEA furniture and a IMac then this is the one for you. I got this CD off a friend and I had it stolen from me when they broke into my vehicle and stole all my audio and every one of my CD's (Geo Tracker... figures). Well This CD is rated 4 because only a couple of tracks are rated as 5 stars on my list. Starting No.1 is DJ Dan - That Ziper Track, this track is made up of so many bad "a" sounds blended together in beautiful harmony. If you buy this CD you will enjoy this track. In at number 2 is The Sixth Scense by Wink, this track is silent yet loud a few minutes into the track, a keeper. In at No.3 is Movin' Through your System by Jark Prongo, the song is self explanatory (really deep bass for those bass heads). A must have for collectors. The chiled out songs make it good for variety. Buy it if your open minded. If your a hater go buy your DJ Irene or another sell-out. They know what you like. October 20, 2001

This double CD covers a lot of ground. Perfect for those dying to hear fresh, smart sounds. Aptly titled "phuturism." July 7, 2001

The reason I picked up this CD was because of the few good artists listed on the back. I have been listening to Trance/House/Progressive for quite some time now, but this is the worst compilation of tunes I've heard in a while. I expected this album to have energy and power. None of these songs will get your party jumping. The only reason I give this album a 2 is because they chose a few good artists, and they didn't screw up "Battersea" by Hooverphonic. Pick up some Sasha, Oakenfold, or BT. They won't disappoint you. July 20, 2000

I first got started into Electronica two years ago when I picked up the first Digital Empire album. It seems that the D.E. series just keeps getting better and better each time around. Even if you're new to electronica and don't know all the names, GET THIS ALBUM! You won't be disappointed... June 26, 2000
