As a huge Amuro fan (native Japanese, living in Canada), I was pleasantly surprised with this album. Although there has been a great shift in her music from Sweet 19 Blues to now, I definately think it was for the better. This album has a much more mature feel to it; her voice seemed to settle down more, there was more feeling into her singing and the songs were beautifully composed. This CD has more of an R&B style to it, rather than the dancy tunes she is used to singing. This was an awesome CD, a must buy! April 20, 2002

I am a big fan of Jpop, a few of my favourites are Utada Hikaru, Do As Infinity, Ayumi Hamasaki and of course Namie Amuro. Ever since I listened to her single "Don't Wanna Cry", I am hooked on to her voice and style of singing. She have an awesome unique voice that you can recognize immediately. And not only that, her music varies - she can sing slow song, she can sound real aggresive when she sings some fast song - and she can even rap very well.

I like "Concentration 20" album better - but there are some original tunes in "Genius 2000" thats I really really like. When I first listen to songs like "Love 2000" I was totally appalled by the tune - but after listening to it a few times, it just catch on. Boy talk about some real catchy song! I like the "Respect The Power of Love" version in this CD, with some real cool piano playing, which I have never heard before. My most favourite song in the album is "Something about the kiss". I mean this girl can sing - you can definately hear that she matured from her Sweet 19 Blues album. I would rank this album second best after Concentration 20 album.

Just recently (I think on Dec 23) she released her fifth album "Break The Rules" with some real different tune, but that album have awesome song like never end, please smile again and the up coming single - "no more tears". I still think that Genius 2000 album is better than the just release album. I like most of the songs in the "Genius 2000" CD! I think most of the song are lighter and have a real happier tune. And FYI for amuro fans, here are Genius 2000 concert out in DVD too! December 29, 2000

Uuuggghhh...hate this CD! What a disapointing dismal album. I'm a big Namie fan, I have all her albums, 90% of her singles, and her '95 concert DVD, so needless to say I snagged this the first chance I got without feeling a need to listen to it first. What a mistake! If you like soft R&B/Soul you may like this, but I don't, so I did'nt. If I wanted that I'd listen to Whitney Houston or TLC, but I wanted high-energy, catchy, in-your-face J-Pop. Why else would I buy a Namie CD?! There is one good song though - "I Have Never Seen". But I already had that single. Luckily, this appears to just be a brief departure/experiment for Namie. Her latest single, "Please Smile Again" kicks! BTW - what's up with the title?? "Genius 2000"??! What an ego! What kind of pompous, arrogant title is that?! December 6, 2000

I think this is the best overall work that Amuro has released...at least her most mature work to date. There are many standout songs on this cd. I believe there are 4 of her "singles" included on this CD (5 if you include "You are the One" which was the flip-side of "Something Bout The Kiss"). My favorites are the gospel-tinged "Respect the Power of Love", The groove of the Dallas Austin produced "Something Bout the Kiss", the interesting rhythm and vocal delivery of "I Have Never Seen", and the gorgeous "You Are The One" with Imajin. "Give It A Try" is a sweet, relaxing song to close out the cd. This cd definitely has more of a R&B feel as compared to her other pop/dance sounding releases...and this is a good thing! It will be interesting to see what direction Namie will take on upcoming releases. November 28, 2000

I have to admit to buying this CD and becomming slightly disappointed, but netherless, Namie Amuro still remains one of my favourite idol singers. Why the disappointment then?

Simple: the newly produced music didn't impress me at all. As a HUGE Amuro fan, I feel TK went slim on the over-all originality of the album. The vocal ranges of many of the songs weren't meant for her beautiful voice and made the quality a bit..dare I say.. out of tune. But despite all this, I still found this CD enjoyable and fun to listen to. Something Bout the Kiss and Love 2000 are in my opinion, very catchy songs and definatly give j-pop a fresh new sound.

Personally I only recommend this album to die-hard Amuro fans since it may leave new commers a bit wary of her talents. If you haven't heard Amuro at all I definatly think you should check out her newer single "Never End" or one of her older, more classic tunes, "Can You Celebrate?" August 31, 2000
