I like this CD. I usually buy a CD for one song, but on this one, I like the majority of the songs. Stephen Gately has such a beautiful voice. You can't help but feel good when you listen to his music. January 15, 2008

I must admit that I have never been a Boyzone fan and quite fankly I found Ronan's solo efforts rather dull, so when a friend lent me a copy of Boyzone member Stephen Gately's debut solo CD I was rather skeptical. I was pleasantly surprised. This CD is filled with wonderful pop sounds and Stephen's sweet singing voice is used to full effect here. With several tracks cowritten by Stephen himself, the lyrics are basically dealing with his coming-out. A wonderful CD - I throughly recommend it. January 11, 2003

If you like pop music and great vocals, then this is a CD not to be missed. Stephen has an incredible voice that soars through this CD and it will keep itself in your player just for the sheer joy of listening to it over and over again.

Stephen is no stranger to singing music for movie soundtracks and I Believe (from the Billy Elliot soundtrack) is a wonderful example of his incredible range. Like other reviews stated here, some of his best songs can be found from his Boyzone days, but there's a lot here to keep you interested. His ballads are extraordinary, with you as the listener feeling that he has his heart out on his sleeve on some of these songs. The range of emotion matches the voice, and I highly recommend this for your collection. April 8, 2002

Here again is a very talented young man. I know he is part of Boyzone but why is he not over here in the states performing???
This young man has one of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard. I think he and Boyzone would do GREAT in America. and I think someone should get Stephen and Boyzone over here and let America hear how great they are. March 26, 2002

I wanted so much to love this album after listening to the great music of Boyzone, and I do! This is not Boyzone Revisited. Stephen has, indeed, launched a New Beginning. The songs are infectious, and seem to grow on you with repeated listening. The song Bright Eyes is hauntingly beautiful and so very sad. The title track pretty much explains itself. As others who have reviewed the album have pointed out, Stephen's relationship with Eloy is evident in the choice of material. The recent announcement that they are no longer together adds a certain poignancy to the album. If you are a fan of Stephen's voice, you will love this album. If you are expecting another Boyzone album (and I love their music, make no mistake), give this album a try and treat yourself to something new and delightful. I'd give it six stars if I could. (After I discovered that I had purchased the German release of the CD which only has 12 songs, I reordered this edition which contains the full 13 songs. That's how much I like Stephen's music!)
