There are not words to describe the virtuosity and
beauty of this finest recording of one of the greatest
vocal artists ever. It must be experienced.

It is a variety of Christian chant particular to the
Holy Day of Good Friday (the Crucifixion)
from the near and middle east.
Fairuz is Lebanese.

No collection of recorded music is complete without this
particular recording. Thank God we have the technology
available to preserve such beauty for the future. January 31, 2008

I played this cd at my church this year, and everyone was very moved. Fairouz at her best. "El Yom Ollika" (Today He Was Hung) is one of the most intense pieces of music I have ever heard, in any genre. This album is a treasure, an overwhelming work from one of the 20th century's great artists. October 29, 2007

This album is seriously religious and is all about GOOD FRIDAY which leads you to the Easter season. All songs are sung in Arabic by Fairuz of Lebanon. December 16, 2006

As I walked through jerusalem/ al-quds this easter/passover (2006), I heard this music coming from a bar. The man behind the counter did not know how to write it in Latin so he gave me a very bad copy of the cd. It took me a while to find out what I got, but now I know. Great music. I love wa habibi! This album contains "Good Friday" to "Easter Sunday" hymns from the main 3 Christian rites in Lebanon: "Maronite" (sung in Arabic and Syriac-Aramaic), Greek Orthodox and Greek Catholic (sung in Arabic and Greek).

Even if someone doesn't understand any of these languages, the voice alone will carry you away.

Highly recommended. January 12, 2006
