| Andy sold his songs without even trying--and that's no small feat !!! |
"Butterfly" has Andy swinging brightly and he croons this ballad to perfection. The backup vocalists bolster Andy and the musical arrangement makes good use of the piano and guitars. "Are You Sincere" has Andy singing his best with great backup; and this sweet love tune is sure to please. I also really like "Moon River;" this classic romantic ballad from Breakfast At Tiffany's couldn't be any better than the way Andy delivers it! He sings "Moon River" with all his heart and soul.
"Can't Get Used To Losing You" is a somewhat melancholy ballad and Andy makes this sweet number a wonderful song and story both at the same time. Love those strings! "Days Of Wine And Roses" keeps Andy's vocals squarely in the spotlight while the strings and other instruments play flawlessly. Listen also for "Quiet Nights Of Quiet Stars (Corcovado);" this bossa nova number is very nicely done by Andy.
The theme from Love Story gets the full royal treatment by Andy who performs this with sensitivity. I love Andy's interpretation of this song. The album ends with Andy singing the vocals to the theme from The Godfather; and this creates a beautiful, strong ending for the album.
Fans of Andy Williams will certainly love this album; and it's geared to please the more casual fan as well.
Great job, Andy! Thank you!
