'Uncovered' is John Farnham's solo album after he parted ways with the 'Little River Band'. It is almost 20 odd years old and is a great CD that is nice to listen too. It is a 10 track CD and several of the songs from this album is on the Anthology Series like 'Help', 'Please Don't Ask Me', 'On my Own'.

Songs like 'Matilda' and 'Jillie's Song' show John in the middle of his formative years when he was just getting his footing and context down pat. It's an excellent CD for any Farnham fan and this CD completes my John Farnham collection. His music is simply amazing and as a person he is basically a all-round great bloke.

Makes me damned proud to be an aussie! March 3, 2005

It's hard to believe that this CD is over 20 years old now. This is John's break from "Little Johnny" Farnham and with Little River Band member Graham Goble as his producer and arranger, you can easily see why Farnham was asked to join the Little River Band in the early eighties. The voice is as always, overwhelmingly effective, whether he be doing a sultry or sentimental ballad, or a driving up-tempo tune. Unlike Michael Bolton, John works his voice to a feverish pitch without becoming bombastic or self-ingratiating.

The highlights of this set (to me) are: "Jillie's Song," his self-penned homage to his wife, which is beautifully performed, no wonder he cries when he sings it! "Infatuation", "Back to the Backwoods" and "She's Everywhere" are incredible up-tempo tunes, with that signature Farnham delivery. "on My Own" has the trademark LRB harmonies, which isn't surprising since fellow LRB member Wayne Nelson helps out. John's version of "Help" is quite good, too, as he slows it down and makes it a desperate plea. I am sure Lennon and McCartney would be pleased with this alternative version. "Please Don't Ask Me" appeared for the first time on this CD, and it may well be Farnham's signature song. It's really a heartfelt song, illustrating the difficulty the singer has in trying to accept his love as a friend only.

John is a consummate singer and performer; he is certainly due the honor of being the most successful solo artist in Australia. As I've said before, it's a shame he hasn't caught on in the states. But, all us LRB and Farnham fans, can only be grateful his product is so easily available on Amazon!!! October 10, 2001

As a fan of John Farnham for the past 21 years(YES Im under 30), I must say that this is one of the best albums he has done...The beautiful Jilly was penned for his wife, and I must admit it brings a tear to my eye when I hear it...All in all, I am extremely biased when it comes to John's albums..I have all his solo albums and a couple of Little River Band associated albums...I love all his music, but I will also be brazen enough to admit that there is one song I'm not too fond of...and NO Im not telling which one!! I LOVE FARNHAM!!! August 31, 2001

The first thing to remeber when listening to this album is that it was made in the early 80's. (Not that there is anything wrong with that!)But still I can't be too harsh on this album as it does have pretty good songs such as beautiful Jilly's Song (written as I understand for his wife and he has never been able to sing the whole song to her with out crying) and Please don't ask me, a ballad that hit you whether a Farnham fan or not. Personally I prefer the latest version of this song but it still leaves an impact upon me. So if you are a Farnham fan (as i am) it is another different sound from the fantastic Farnham.
