Ice Cube's Greatest Hits is solid, tho not great. He's not as catchy by himself as NWA was as a crew. Nevertheless, this is good rap, telling stories from the urban streets. Also, unlike NWA, there's not teh element of glamorizing gangsta stuff. Ice Cube just tells it like it is, with gritty realism, including acknowledging that the stuff is bad. Here are some notable raps on this disc:

Check Yoself - includes a cool line from the Grandmaster Flash tune "It's like a jungle sometimes it makes we wonder how I keep from goin' under."

Once Upon a Time in the Projects - descriptive, kinda humoress story about getting caught up in a bust when he visits his girlfriend in the projects

It Was a Good DAy - raps about how it was a good day, just cuz none of the usual bad stuff happens.

My Summer Vacation

Bop Gun - really energetic and bouncy

I agree with many of the reviewers here, and there are a ton of classics missing from 'Ice Cube's Greatest Hits'. This is a very good collection (with a new tracks & remixes!) to start off with if you simply want most of the popular hits, BUT there's room for at least 3 additional tracks, and I just HAD TO remaster the CD myself (sorry I can't wait for the record company to wake up!). If you have 'Ice Cube's Greatest Hits', consider adding the following classic joints as BONUS TRACKS -

18. 'No Vaseline' (fr.1991's 'Death Certificate')
19. 'Wicked' (fr.1992's 'The Predator')
20. 'How To Survive In South Central'
(fr.1991's 'Boys In The Hood' SDTK)

Overall, Ice Cube's 'Greatest Hits' CD falls a little short, BUT you can take it up a notch by adding these 3 tracks for a cool 20 track collection!!

I think this album is boring. I think it doesnt do its job. I think ice cube is a wannabe. I think he needs to get a real job. I think this broke very soon after i got it. I think this won't play in most cd players. i think the cover looks stupid. i think it gave me the idea to put an ice cube in the microwave. i think art is stupid. I think i don't recommend this. I think ive said enough May 7, 2006

Westside Slaughterhouse- Mack 10 (ft. Ice Cube and WC)

NEXT FRIDAY SOUNDTRACK:

And also, they should've included King Of THe Hill, the diss track Cube made referring to Cypress Hill.

This album has Ice Cube's main good hits, but are missing the deeper ones. For a person trying to buy this album, I suggest you get all four of the early Ice Cube Albums, and forget THe War Aad PEace Vol.1 and Vol.2 albums.

ANYWAY, WATCH OUT FOR ICE CUBE'S NEW ALBUM, LAUGH NOW, CRY LATER!
