Average user review:This album is simply amazing.
Best tracks:
Pure
Rip
My Jesus
I Can't Breathe
The rest are basically just filler songs, but these tracks seriously amaze me. Once I heard Rip I decided to buy the whole cd and thank god I did. The album is like watching a movie if you sit and listen to it with your eyes closed.
I simply love it. March 2, 2008
Listen To Your Master And You'll See That Messiah Is A Fake
I originally found out about "Gary Numan" around 1999 because I had played one of the "Test Drive" games for Playstation. I think at first he had creeped me out because originally I didn't understand who he was/what he was about. I never really started to listen to music/know many artists really until mid-2005 and finally had finalized my believes about god and that "the lie of the lord is the lie of your father". That's when I really got until him. When I was in Rockville, Maryland late that year or early next year when there still was "Tower Records" I had bought "Pure". I originally had a used copy of "Pure", but felt that I should give an album sale to Mr. Numan. I had later sold the used copy and my friend actually had later bought my used copy from Record And Tape Traders (I also had bought another copy for a friend earlier this year who likes metal and I had already gaven him "Exile" and later "Jagged") To me "Pure" is one of his best albums up there with "Replicas", "The Pleasure Principle", "Telekon" and "Exile" and is his best Industrial album by far. Any music/industrial fan that shares the views of Mr. Numan should highly find this album great (If you know someone who dosen't know who Gary Numan is and you do, turn them on to this). This is far one of the best albums I have heard, but there are some production flaws (Per say the version of "A Prayer For The Unborn" from Hybrid/Mutate is better than the one one here). For all of you who do believe in god, you shouldn't be critical of the believes of others. You should respect all mankind. The only people who I can see listening to this album and not likening it, is Numan fans who do not like his 1994+ work (I still have much respect for any Numanoid). Of course.. my favorite songs on this album are 1. Pure, 2. RIP 3. One Perfect Lie 4. My Jesus 5. Listen To My Voice 6. A Prayer For The Unborn 7. Little Invitro. Gary Numan by far is one of the best singers who is still successful who never gets the respect he deserves by critics/others.

Just heard the sampler and already know its good
Gary's come a long way since "Cars", but his most recent music seems to suit him best. It's hard, it's industrial and a bit goth, yet uniquely sensual in it's own way because the music infuses the senses in a manner that the average high-energy metal sound would overwhelm the body. He plays with haunting ambient sounds and balances them out with a steady stream of metal guitar at certain points of the song and adding his own voice which makes for very interesting, distantly emotional and thought-provoking music.
If you're not much of an ambient rock fan, Gary is out of your league, but for those who prefer a deeper-meaning sound that goes beneath the surface with that rawness of metal, this is the man to listen to. February 18, 2007
Gary Numan - 'Pure' (Spitfire)
First off,I'd like to suggest that for a short bit,TOTALLY forget all about Numan's late 1979 hit "Cars". Tell yourself that since then,he's put out a lot of music some of you are not even aware of.One thing about Gary Numan is that he has SUCCESSFULLY changed with the times.'Pure' is a good 2000 release of rather goth/industrial as opposed to his old 'new wave' style' that so many of us know him for. In my humble opinion,Numan's music is about AS good as it was in the early '80's,but with a beefier sound.Does that make much sense?Tracks here that I thought make this CD worth having is the opening title cut "Pure","Walking With Shadows","Praying For The Union",the dark "Little Invitro" and "I Can't Breathe".Enjoy.
