rating: 4 QuoteThe best rap soundtrack of 1997Quote
This soundtrack saved Deathrow's butt in 1997 after lukewarm records sales for Snoop's The Doggfather and other Deathrow releases that bombed. It has a lot gems on here like Daz Dillinger's Way Too Major, Storm's Mash For Our Dreams feat Daz and Young Noble, All four of Tupac's joint were tight and Gang Related feat WC, CJ Mac, Daz and Tray Deee is a classic by itself. The main problem with double albums is that sometimes there are songs that could have been left off. Disc 1: I never like Ice Cube's solo Greed and Devotion by Paradise is boring. Disc 2: Young Soldier's Take A N***a Like Me is straight garbage. Feeling A Good Thang by 2DV and Freak Somethin by Roland are not bad track but they are pretty dull. But for every bad track, there is a good one that counters it so everything evens out. Bottom Line: Gang Related is the best soundtrack of '97 and is one of the best soundtracks of all time. This came out when you can expect a tight release from Death Row. If you can find it snatch it up. Standouts on Disc 1: WAY TOO MAJOR, LIFE'S SO HARD, MASH FOR OUR DREAMS, FREE EM ALL, STARING THROUGH MY REARVIEW, I CANT FIX IT, QUESTIONS and HOLLYWOOD BANK ROBBERY. Standouts on Disc 2: MADE N****Z, LOC'D OUT HOOD, GANG RELATED, KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN, WHAT'S YOUR FANTASY, A CHANGE TO COME and LOST SOULS. March 9, 2008

It's not often you find a CD with bangers from beginning to end - here you have TWO that are non-stop bangin' tracks from start to finish. You have standout tracks from 2Pac & The Outlawz, Tha Dogg Pound, even Ice Cube and the Westside Connection make an appearance here - but even better you get a glimpse of some of the less known Death Row artists (O.F.T.B. , J-FLexx, Tenkamenin a.k.a. Tha Realest) most of which never released an album on that label. This soundtrack in my opinion one of the top rap soundtracks of all time. September 2, 2006

rating: 4 Quote4.5 star double disc soundtrackQuote
Death Row was still on top of the rap game for the past 5 years before this release and they continued with this double disc 24 song soundtrack. Features most of the Death Row roster at the time, the Outlawz and some others as well (plus a few R&B songs - which are actually pretty good). The production is great on here and it is a must have for gangsta rap mid 90's west coast fans. The movie is pretty good as well.
