You know those albums which never make is big but you know the songs from? Well, this is going to be one of those albums. Alisha's Attic are one of Britain's best-kept musical secrets. This, their 3rd album is an album overflowing with ace tunes & incisive musical & lyircal capability, that it's tragic that these 2 sisters are not recognised further. From the infectiously catchy first single, which chronicles their relationship as sisters (Push It All Aside) to the Venetian mood of the tragically gorgeous Pretender Got My Heart, this album mesmerises me with its tunes. My personal fave is Perfectly Happy which rolls between a jaunty verse & a power-chorus. If you like you music to be accessible & are unafraid to take the road less travelled, you could do MUCH worse than purchase this album. Definitely a sassy little number that's in my Top 5 albums of 2001 January 1, 2002

After a stunning first album that got the group noticed, they kind of faded into the background somewhat after their more radio-friendly second album 'Illumina' was released. Superb though this was, it lost them a lot of fans. It's good to know that Alisha's Attic aren't willing to conform to convention with their third, and probably best, album to date, which is pure pop.

Some songs such as 'Push It All Aside' are so cheesy that you just know that it's got to be self-conscious, whilst other tracks such as 'Sex Is On Everyone's Tongue' are thought-provoking. The general sound seems to be a little 60s-esque and the group are all the better for it. Each tune is catchy, memorable and individual. From one of Britain's finest and criminally unrecognised groups, this is an achievement to be proud of. It's such a shame that in a day when the charts are overtaken by serious indie drivel and nu-metal that's every bit as commercial as Britney Spears, that this album didn't do better: the girls were recently dropped from their record company. However, for those wanting more they are releasing two albums of rarities through their official website. November 13, 2001

Shelly and Karen's third album takes them back to the top of their form, easily beating their disappointing second albim 'Illumina' and just topping their excellent debut 'Alisha Rules the World'.

The (almost!) title track, The House That We Built, is just one of the wonderful quirky tracks on this album, other highlights are 'Pilot' and the two singles 'Push it All Aside' and 'Pretender'. But all of the tracks are definately worth a listen, no duds here.

Definately not the run of the mill mush we seem to 'enjoy' in the charts these days - try it, you'll find yourelf surprised. October 1, 2001

First heard this group in the UK. They have a nice sound, interesting (double entendre) lyrics like "sex is on everyone's tongue" and a wonerful style. Give them a try... September 18, 2001

The House We Built is a fantsatic album, that was worth the long wait. I dont think that their style has changed, as i love this album throughout. The Hous We Built features the singles Push It All Aside and Pretender Got My Heart (from Bridget Jones Diary), and features other top songs like, Pilot (my Favourite), Perfectly Happy and That Other Girl. Its just a shame that Alishas Attic have parted with their record company and have been evicted from the house that they built September 17, 2001
