I got this album several years ago once I heard that Nina Persson was going off to do a solo. I think that the Cardigans are one of the most underrated bands ever in the U.S. although I think they do quite well in their native Sweden. Her vocals are more pronounced here, and there is some time you need to get used to her without the sugary 60's pop music background. Once you do, you will realize that the music is just great... Se nota que es un album muy personal, su voz es inconfundible y muy cruda, pareciera que estuviera cantando junto a ti al lado tuyo... es uno de mis discos preferidos y ojala tengan la oportunidad de escucharlo. February 17, 2008

I held off on buying this for a while due to the mixed reviews, but I finally bought it because I found myself wanting more of Nina Persson's singing. I am so glad I did. I love the way her voice has developed, and of course it's the focus here because it's her solo project. It has a very warm, endearing quality to it. Aside from her singing, most of the songs here are worthy also. I especially love the first three tracks, but there isn't anything on here that I skip. It has a country feel to it, but with plenty of quirks. Definitely worth the purchase for anyone who is a fan of The Cardigans' more recent material. May 28, 2007

This appears to be the beginning of Persson's foray into more American country-tinged styles, as well as a chance to see how well she can stand on her own. Persson's lack of vocal prowess has always been compensated for by a certain girlish charm (and not-quite-shedded Swedish accent perhaps) but is that enough to sustain her first real full length record? There are a number of single-worthy efforts (I Can Buy You, Walking The Cow, and the MOR-friendly Bluest Eyes In Texas) but for the most part it all sounds pleasantly listless, like doodling on a lazy afternoon. Past the halfway mark, the album's flow is weakened by the awkward insertion of hard-rocking tunes among laidback ones. A letdown to be sure, but a minor one which shouldn't stop A Camp from being a reasonably interesting compilation of Persson's solo ideas. September 22, 2005

A Camp~ A Camp is the the solo project from Nina Persson of the cardigans and it is quite good but not quite on the level of the Cardigans. The issues with this album is not the sound per se, but artwork for the book-let which is sub-par to be nice and uggly if one is honest and the lyrics are basically impossible to read and the artwork looks like they highered a highschool and gave him/her 50 dollars to do it since it just looks plain bad. I know this might sound petty but when one buys a record then one buys a package of the music and the coverart and they should jive. The music is very good and deserves 4 out of 5 stars and Nina Persson is a very good vocalist with decent ability to write lyrics and the music itself is straight forward pop music at its best.
