About Ready for the World - 20th Century Masters - The Millennium Collection: The Best of Ready for the World

The 20th Century Masters series is the best-selling single-artist line in music history and is being re-released by Universal Music Enterprises (UMe) in its ground-breaking, environmentally-friendly packaging format. A first for the music industry, the standard package (both sleeve and tray) will be completely paper-recyclable, continuing the company's long-standing commitment to being "green."

To further reduce the amount of paper in the Eco-Pack, the CD booklet will no longer be offered. Official liner notes are easily accessible on the Internet at http://www.ilovethatsong.com/green.

UMe is the first North American music company to replace the traditional jewel case with recycled paperboard sleeves and the plastic tray with trays made from PaperFoam®, a new packaging technology from Shorewood Packaging, a business of International Paper, that is paper-recyclable and biodegradable. Shorewood Packaging is the first North American packaging supplier to produce disc trays from PaperFoam®. Album Description

Great CD for the "Old Heads" that still remember the good old ballads of yesteryear. April 15, 2008

Universal's "MILLENNIUM COLLECTION" series are usually skimpy on the song selection and the time length. However, this Ready For The World compilation is a glowing exception. Clocking in at over 73 minutes, this 14-song set contains all the hits in either lengthy 12" versions ("Ceramic Girl"), full-length album versions ("Love You Down") or well-mixed radio edits ("Can He Love You Like This").

READY FOR THE WORLD's music is Prince-lite with the truly unique vocals of Melvin Riley, who represented whiny soulful singers four years before Keith Sweat stepped up to the plate. The band may have bitten off of someone else's style, but at least this talented act was able to add their own stamp to it. July 14, 2006

This is a must have CD for anyone who enjoyed Ready for the World's 80s hits. As someone who owned RFTWs tapes (yes...back in the day when you bought either LPs or tapes!), I was very happy to come across this greatest hits collection. It really does have all the RFTW songs that you could possibly want. June 29, 2005

I have always been a fan of Ready for the World from the start. Every song was a hit for me. My favorite was "love you down, Whose is it, tonight and so many more." I just hate to hear haters like the review before me of Mike Patterson. There are several artist that may sound like someone else or have similar lyrics.....but in the music business it comes down to who gets the break and who doesn't. Well, I have never heard of Mike Patterson and probably never will. Ready for the World had their fame and they could be back you never know. JUST QUIT HATING.........Lay back and enjoy the music - cause you know its good. January 4, 2005
