Rachael Lampa - Kaleidoscope

Not a great project, but enjoyable enough.

At points, such as "Savior Song" and the lyrically awesome "It's About You" gives hints of a Brittany Spears influence, and the album as a whole seems to be in this direction. This is as good as your like for that style of music.

In the middle of this project, there is more of a white soul sound with "Beautiful" and "Sanctuary".

My favorite tracks are "Brand New Life", "Lead Me I'll Follow", "No Greater Love", and "Sanctuary". May 5, 2008

Not as good as Live For You

I bought this because I loved "Live For You", but I didn't enjoy much of Kaleidoscope at all. Entirely too hip hop-esque for my taste, but I did like a few of the songs: Lead Me, Brand New Life, Beautiful, No Greater Love and Give Your Heart Away.

As an aside..Rachael's music video of Savior Song reminded me of a conservative Britney Spears; I can't say that I was impressed. I hope I'm wrong, but it seems that Lampa is trying to compete with the secular market by participating in toned down worldly productions. I couldn't help but wonder if I donned a cutsie outfit and shook my hips surrounded by gyrating backup singers, could I effectively give my testimony and present the Gospel?

While Christian artists are becoming more and more questionable in dress and actions (If you don't believe me, take a look at Jaci Velasquez movie, Chasing Papi and her albums where she sports a strapless dress in one photo and tight revealing outfits in others. Also, watch as these young female artists age through their photos. Early photos show proper modestly dressed young ladies and later photos showcase the female form through tight, revealing clothing.) One must wonder how they're going to try to keep up with the rest of the popular market and where they're going to go from here? February 22, 2007

I appluad Rachael!!!!!!

This CD is great for any Christian listener! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because her "Live for You" CD is better! February 26, 2006

Well,

I'm not a huge fan of Rachael Lampa, but Live For You is pretty good and Rachael Lampa is good too. But Kailidoscope? Well, This is what i think:
*The music is all over the place and is not very good at all
*The songs aren't very upliftibg
*Rachael doesn't look as cool as she usually does. Whats up? Pus she shows off with her voice TOO MUCH
No offence anyone, but it's not a good album really, in my opion. Her others are okay, apart from Blur, Im not really a fan though, there are lots more enjoyable albums. If you're totally serious about RL, than grab the CD after listening to the clips. But if you like various different albums and are not serius about Rach, maybe it's not for you.. February 8, 2005
