This cd is really good. That mess they play on the radio can not touch this cd. I live it a area where if it wasn't for Amazon I would be albe to get stuff like this. So to the company I would like to say thank you for having a site like this. And for people out there who want to hear real Hip-Hop I say please buy this you will not be disappointed. The heading is not a bold statement its the truth. While other rappers' mixtapes are all guns, drugs and which hoe did it with freddy kreuger last night, Dead Prez devotes mixtape time to give you insight and thought provoking rhymes. Standout Tracks: TURN OFF THE RADIO, THAT'S WAR, WE NEED A REVOLUTION, FOOD CLOTHES & SHELTER part 2, SOULJA LIFE MENTALITY(Soulja Slim RIP), GET UP, KNOW YOUR ENEMY, IT WAS WRITTEN, NO LOVE, THO IT UP, HIP HOP(RBG mix)etc. Filler: Sellin d.o.p.e.. Bottom Line: Dead prez's mixtapes are better than most rappers mixtapes and albums if you want to take it that far. On some songs they use other people's beats like the late Aaliyah's I need a resolution and Black Rob's Whoa but they put their on positive spin on these track so Im okay with it. Both mixtapes by Dead Prez are strongly recommended by me as well as their albums. November 29, 2006

Their first album "Let's Get Free" was a 5 star masterpiece, unfortunately this one is horrible. There are only 2 good tracks on this album, both which are deep and reminiscent of "Let's Get Free." One is "Sellin D.O.P.E." and the other is "Look Around" which is already featured on Beatnuts' "Musical Massacre," and to make things worse they chop off 3 minutes of the song. The other tracks are boring and uninspiring. They completely changed up their entire formula as if to impress the commercial heads who know nothing about real hip hop. The beats are either recycled or "snare- happy, throw them bows" type beats that are for a whole different crowd of listeners then their first CD. It's much like a book with no pages. Shine with no substance. It's too bad that with their first joint they dropped a gem on us and then with this one strayed away from their roots. I'm optimistic that they will soon get back to the old Dead Prez formula that made "Let's Get Free" so great. But until then, don't pick this one up. February 6, 2004
