Because the booklet is primarily in Dutch, the only English is in the discography and individual track listings. Fear not, Herman Brood DOES perform in English with the exception of @ 9 tracks; 4 of which are very strange nonsense numbers (totally appropiate in Dutch!), 1 german, and 4 more dutch rockers.

From his early years with the Dutch Blues stalwarts' Cuby&the Blizzards, through his junkie obsessed rock'n roll with the Wild Romance (the bulk of this box at 50 trks), there was little that escaped his musical vision. Rock'n roll, funk, blues, doo-wop, dance, big band...Brood covers all the bases here and puts his inimitable stamp on the sex, drugs, and power fueled music known as ROCK (dutch style)!

Lately, several box sets of Brood have surfaced. THIS set is the most inclusive, however FINAL (57 trks,3cds), DE BROOD-BOX (72 trks, 6cds), and MY WAY:THE HITS (24 trks, 2cds) also offer a rich (and considerably less $$$) insight into the junkie-addled genius that was Herman Brood (1946-2001). I used to go see Herman Brood and his Wild Romance whenever I could, while growing up in Holland. After a rather rapid rise in popularity and an even faster fall Herman Brood went back to his roots. He performed in small dancehalls and youth centers sometimes playing for less than a hundred people. Mid song one of the band members would mutter: "I need a drink." Everybody would suppend at the bar for a beer and would shortly thereafter climb on stage once again and continue. I must have seen them fifteen times or more and this box set is the definate accolade. This and Cha Cha and you have it all. August 19, 2005
