This album serves as one of the only releases of new material by the band in the past decade, and the band shows itself to be no more than a shadow of what it used to be. This pales in comparison to the first three Poison albums--which will always be metal / rock classics--and really lacks anything noteworthy. Honestly, I just can't get into any of this. If this were put out in the mid-to-late 80s--at the height of the band's popularity--it would have been a disappointment then, as well. It just isn't good...nor even mediocre. The only thing that I can say about it that's positive is that it is original (mostly) and new--not a re-packaging / re-working of the same old songs, nor a bunch of covers...which seems to be a trend for the band these days. I just adore Poison, but to find this little gem of an album was the biggest treat for me, CC sings on three of the songs, Emporer's new clothes, Livin in the Now and Home (CC's version). Not only can he deliver some of the most outstanding guitar riffs but he has an adorable voice bring quirkiness to songs in a manner only CC can.
The rest of the songs on this album don't disappoint either. If your a fan you'll love, if not, well it might be the one that will change your mind about the gods of ROCK!!! Enjoy! April 24, 2008

Please, for the love of god leave the bluesy stuff alone........the vocal delivery, etc...where on earth is the great, punky, trashy Rock band that had more in common with the NY Dolls or the Ramones than Garth Brooks .....Enough is enough.

I recomend you check out the new Fozzy All That Remains Reloaded CD/DVD..for some great energetic rock/metal.

Until I was bored and surfing the internet, I didn't even realise POISON were still going. This dire effort makes me wish they had quit while they were still ahead! August 7, 2007

I was pleasantly surprised when I listened to this album. The only song I'd heard prior to purchasing it was Hollyweird and thought it was very catchy and fun to sing along with (though my singing voice isn't by any means top notch).THE WHOLE CD IS LIKE THAT!!!
Hollyweird is the ultimate recount of what it was like to be in Poison back in the day. The hair, the girls, the fame, the fights that Bret,Bobby,Rikki and C.C. have had.All of it.I really apperciated the extra details about one of my favorite bands but nostalgia isn't the only thing that this cd offers.
From start to finish it's a blast of much needed rock n' roll and Poison style fun.C.C. even sings three songs on it.Home,Emperors New Clothes and Livin In The Now.Probably the most memorable of the lot is C.C.'s comical version of Home(Bret also does a version of the song on Hollyweird). It's complete with a description of him getting "thrown out of first class cause I said we were the bomb".
All and all, this is a great cd to have if you love 80's metal. If you're on the fence about getting this, take it from me,GET IT!!! You'll be a lot happier once you listen to it. February 2, 2007
