User Reviews
Average user review:| Love it - Hate it... It All Depends |
People who will probably like this album:
1. Someone who has never truly enjoyed one of Paul's trance-mix cd's (Regardless of whether or not you've heard one)
2. Someone who enjoys the solo music of artists like Nelly Furtado, or any of the artists featured in the collaborative tracks (except Ice Cube)
3. Anyone who heard the singles "Hypnotised", "Starry-Eyed Surprise", or "Ready, Steady, Go" (you've probably heard the either of the latter two on MANY television commercials in the past few years)
Someone who will probably NOT enjoy this album:
1. Previous fans of Oakenfold's DJ work - Fans of trance, house, or breaks
2. Someone who has a tendency to steer away from the music of such artists as Nelly Furtado and the rest of the 'Brit-Pack'
3. Someone who heard those aforementioned singles and figured that those were just the radio-friendly few of the tracks...
In my opinion, those three songs were slightly annoying, but still somewhat listenable. The rest is just music that tries REALLY hard to be something it's not... My heart goes out to oakey, he really took a career hit from the inconsistency on this album. It just fell short. April 6, 2007
Oblique and Very good!
Ready Steady go!, Time of your Life, Zoo York (My favorite) Hold your Hand, Starry Eyed Surprise, and Get Em Up are sure fire winners. You owe it yourself to get with this! March 19, 2007
Great CD!
Kidding, right?
A mixed bag - great!
The album itself is a mixed bag of all sorts of different sounding tunes. There's the frenetic "Ready Steady Go", the soulful "Southern Sun", the languid "Zoo York", and a lot more. The only track that I cannot understand them adding was "Nixon's Spirit". I mean, who wants to dance to some guy's droning voice?
But, that said this is a great album, with a lot of really interesting tunes. I love this album, and highly recommend it!
