This is a collection of some of the best songs of Paul Anka from the 70's, some of them are very hard to find , songs like "How can anything.. " or "Bring the wine".

Awesome collection of beautiful songs from one of the best composers/artists/singers ever.

Like many critics said about him : "He's the man" ! August 3, 2008

I am also a long time fan of Paul Anka and collected his albums from the 70's on..But as you know, all LPs. I actually went to Paul Anka's web site and requested the Painter on CD from them. A few months later, they had it available on CD! You can purchase it from the site directly. I have since learned that you can always ask! Can't hurt. I got mine! LOL! and I am very pleased! I am not going to go into song by song detail because if you are reading this, you are already either familiar with Paul Anka's music or, at least, one of the two LPs included on this CD. Paul Anka's offerings from the 1970s are among his best recordings in his career. Up until this two-fer release, it was nearly impossible to find his 1970s music on CD, other than on "The Best Of The United Artists Years." However, there was too much missing on that CD. Now, we get some of Anka's best 70s music on one CD. "Feelings" is the far superior LP on this two-fer set and it, alone, gets five stars. The second LP included on this two-fer is what brings the overall CD to four stars. While not bad, it pales in comparison to "Feelings" and his other 70s output. Had this two-fer instead included his other United Artists masterpiece entitled "The Painter" from 1976 (you remember the LP with the awesome Andy Warhol portrait of Paul) then this would have been a five star two-fer. If anyone is reading this who has any CD releasing clout (like Collector's Choice Music, for example), keep in mind that "The Painter" should have been available on CD years ago. We are fortunate that this two-fer does have the song "Happier" as a bonus track from "The Painter" LP. Until "The Painter" is released (with Anka's most moving and haunting composition both lyrically and musically entitled "Closing Doors") we can enjoy this excellent United Artists two-fer. If you are a fan of Paul Anka and enjoyed this era of his music catalog, don't hesitate to purchase this. You will not be disappointed. For die-hard Anka fans, my next comment may seem sacreligious - but...this CD also has his absolute worst song - "You're Having My Baby." My friends and I used to make song lists of what would be included on LPs if we were to put together the worst songs of all time. We called it the "Gag Me Series." "You're Having My Baby" was always on the top of our list. That horrid song aside, this CD is a must have for Anka fans. I would also recommend for great Anka compilations: "A Body Of Work," "Vegas Style: The Best Of The Late RCA and Buddha Recordings" (where you can get the full-length version of "Jubilation"), "Five Decades" (with the excellent recent recording "Freedom For The World" and re-working of the song "Happier" - with different lyrics - entitled "I Don't Wanna Run Your Life") and the aforementioned "The Best Of The United Artists Years." Anka has a unique writing style and his voice is also like no other's. Buy this and enjoy! July 17, 2006

Well its about time. I recently purchased an mp3 player and all his music is going on it. A few days ago I ordered this cd because it has all the songs I love and miss from Paul. I already have the lps. Having the cd now saves me from buying a turn-table to with my pc. May 28, 2005

I used to own the "Anka" LP (1974) and it is one of my favorite 70's album. The only reason I give this CD 3 stars instead of 5 is that the song "Let Me Get To Know You" is different from the 1974 LP, which is my second favorite song on the LP right after "Papa". Hopefully one day it will be released on CD format.
