At first I thought I made a bad purchase but this album is now in my top 3 albums. Dredg is an amazing band that defies the boundaries of the norm. They aren't your average teen pop punk screamo whatever genre you wanna call it, cuz for the most part all other bands in that teen pop punk screamo genre all sound the same. these guys are original. That is why I believe it takes awhile to grow on you because you have never heard anything like this before. Atleast I haven't. February 25, 2008

I don't even know how to start with Dredg. They're amazing. The lyrics are beautiful, the instrumentation is astoundingly unique, and the passion in the lead singer's voice basically makes me want to cry. I recommend every one of their CDs, including their Live at the Fillmore recording. November 18, 2007

First off...WOW! I boght this album after I fell in love with Dredg's 3rd effort, Catch Without Arms. And let me just say, this completely overlapped that album by leaps and bounds! This is a concept album regarding sleep paralysis, and it mixes the best elements of art-rock and progressive metal/rock, with an atmospheric--almost psychedelic feel on certain tracks.

Gavin's vocals are beautiful, and sometimes even haunting. He doesn't really scream, which alot of people may or may not like, but what he does is perfect for the music. The lyrical content is top-notch as well. I'd almost put this album up there with the best of Tool's work when it comes to unbiased creativity in the modern prog sub-genres.

BUY THIS RECORD!!! PLEASE!

And if you like, also check out Dredg's 1st Record, Leitmotif. It's a bit harder and some screaming is even thrown in the mix.
As well as their 3rd album, Catch Without Arms. That record is a bit more accessible, though still a very creative and beautiful concept album.

They also recently released a live record entitled, Live at the Filmore...also worth checking out. They really are a great band live. April 27, 2007

"Shallow", "B.S. tracks", I don't see how these words can possibly describe this album. If you don't like it, then you probably just don't like art/prog rock, and that's fine, but this is just rediculous. This album is anything but shallow, and by the way, those "B.S. tracks" are called interludes, and they're in a lot of albums, mostly concept albums (can you say "The Wall?"). Anyways, this is an amazing album. A breath of fresh air in this MTV run world. So sit back, relax, and enjoy this gem. There aren't many bands of this caliber in this day and age. February 17, 2007

WOW they really progress from album to album. To compare this album to the first is hard to do. Kinda like comparing apples to oranges as the cliche goes. Comparisons aside, this is a must have album for anybody bored and sickened with the standard mold of many modern rock bands. I find myself looking harder for more and more art rock because that is where it's at. This album features very good instrumentals to compliment the smooth vocals. I like the whole concept of the lyrics and how they're taken from journal entries. It adds to the depth. Once again this is a must have. February 8, 2007
