rating: 4 QuoteGangsta rap classic minus Ice CubeQuote
When Straight Outta Compton came out NWA put Compton on the hip hop map. The unflinching reality, the shock value rhymes prove to be a recipe for sucess for these guys. After selling 2 million copies, Ice Cube realizes that the group is getting jerked and he rightfully leaves. This album is the aftermath of that day. Standout Tracks: PRELUDE, REAL N****Z DONT DIE, N****Z4LIFE, APPETTITE FOR DESTRUCTION, ALWAYZ INTO SOMETHING, REAL N****Z, FINDUM F***EM AND FLEE, APPROACH TO DANGER(wicked rock and roll beat), THE DAYZ OF WAYBACK(I agree this song does leave a weird taste in your mouth but its still cool), 100 MILES AND RUNNIN and SAPRIZE PART 2. Note: The last two songs were included in my copy of the album. Filler: One Less B***h(going too far), Automobile(funny filler), She Swallowed It, Message To B.A.(uncalled for diss to Ice Cube) and Just Dont Bite It. Bottom Line: On the face of it, this is a great gangsta rap album but some of the songs might be a tad ignorant to most people. The Production was great and the rhymes that Mc Ren , Eazy-E(RIP) and Dr Dre gave you were hot. Its worth checking out for all lovers of gangsta rap. February 20, 2007

I meant the production is better on Niggaz4life. The lyrics are tight as well with Ren , Eazy and Dre picking up the slack of Cube leaving. The lyrics also take a turn for the worse topic wise which consist of killing hookers, gang raping a 14 year old girl and getting duck sick. An album like this could never be made again, at least I doubt it.

Its true that while cube was gone alot of the social messages went with him.cube was the socio-political anchor of the group but he eventually would leave.so now Gone are the urban morality tales and "street knowledge" tracks of the previous album. The songs here are pure ghetto nightmares. The lyrics are haunting, ominous, and as raw as anything that could have been allowed on record shelves in 1991 or today for that matter.

its kinda like when all of the political leaders of the black panther party was either killed, went into a self imposed EXILE,or went to jail.and what was left of the party was the remnants militeristic part of the group "The BLA" (The Black liberation Army). So in essence CUBE was the Socio-political master mind, and when he left the only thing that was left was the urban Guerillas .and without the angry violent social-political commentary the group lost not only its edge but its intemidation factor aswell.face it they wasnt as much of a threat with out bitting social political undertone.

the first half of the album is just straight up gangsta warfare with no sense of purpose.just violent mindless nightmare tales of the inner city.the second half is just raunchy sex songs.

the album might not have a sense of purpopse but ULTIMATELY this is their most realized album as far a hitting their stride, and dr dres production was at its best on this album.

so the album does balance itself out,but it really depends on prefrence more so than wether or not this album is good or not May 18, 2006

When Niggaz4life was released and I picked it up the day it was released, I was a bit dissapointed. Ice-Cube was no longer a member of the group, and I really thought that his presence was missed. As the years went on though, and I started listening to it more, I realized how ahead of the time it was. Maybe it was just a little to much to absorb when I first got it, (believe it or not, it actaully took me a while to get to enjoy Dre. Dre's "The Chronic" I think it was because hip-hop was getting so much more complex as the the 1990's rolled in, and gone was simple beats and rapping over a couple of simple samples. When I listen to this album today, it blows almost everything released today outta the water. Its a great CD, and even w/o Cube, its still really strong. Hip-Hop fans should add this one to their collection, to really have a feel for what Hip-Hop was like when it was getting a complete make over. This album is a classic and its not to be missed. Sure there are some poor songs on here, but I still give it a 5 star rating because the songs that are good, are THAT GOOD...ENJOY February 10, 2006

This is a must have CD for any rap enthusiast. It's gangsta rap at its purest; full of violence, misogyny, but also lots of humor, and pathos. Don't take it too seriously . . . the guys of NWA clearly loved women or they wouldn't have spent so energy trashing them. Pop this CD into your stereo, roll a fat one, kick back and enjoy the ride.
