OFFICAL AMAZON HIPHOP REVIEWER
Thank you for taking the time to read through the reviews poeple have left about M.C Ren, Kizz my black azz.
I always find it important to get other people who either own or have listen to the album your looking into buying but people do have diffrent taste in music and something somebody likes you may not, so instead of just saying " this cd is great i loved it everyone will love this cd " i try give a more detailed description on the album and which type of hiphop fan's will like this album.
M.C Ren was a rapper from compton and along with other rappers from compton joined with eazy e's group N.W.A, in 1988, Ren was first heard on the album N.W.A STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON.
His first solo album came out in 1992 which is the album you are looking into buying KIZZ MY BLACK AZZ
nothing much has changed in Ren voice since N.W.A the same style of dark, gritty lyrics and voice.
this album was brought out on Ruthless records which was eazy e's record lable so not much has changed in the production side of the album and you can bee expecting the same quality of beats as where heard in N.W.A
This was not the first M.C ren album i bought and i am sorry to say that i am glad because i would of probably not bought any more after hearing this album.
I am i huge fan of M.C Ren and do own all his albums including this one which i am sorry to say is by far his worst.
i have heard worst album in my time but i do expect a lot from Ren and i felt this album didn't deliver.
The album is a short album and is classed as EP due to it only having 6 songs which does not make the album a bad one, bone thugs first album on ruthless was only short " CREEPING ON A COME UP " but yet is one of the best albums i own.
the way the beats are put togher make's this album M.C Rens worst
i feel the best beat on the album is the intro, which only lasts a few seconds after that it went down hill for me,
final frontier is a good song but only leavin 5 songs left on the album which all 4 are not much good and do not seem to catch my attention.
i would say if you are looking into a first time M.C Ren album to go for either Ruthless for life or The villian in black or Shock of the hour.all three albums are Ren at his finist and show listeners What Ren realy is about
I hope my review was helpfull and i am aware that this review may not be liked by many M.C ren fan's but please do realise that i am i ren fan and love his work and see him as a pioneer of hiphop and i am giving my oppinion on the album. please only vote yes/no if you realy did think the revie was helpfull or not.
thank you and good luck. January 18, 2007
That Other Guy From N.W.A. (4 Stars)
I didn't give this 5 stars because it doesn't quite stand up to the test of time. Some of the slang is a little dated, the heavy handed P-Funk samples don't hit like they used to, and there are two joints that are kind of weak ("Hounddogz" and "Kizz My Black Azz"). The rest of the album is smooth sailing.
Kizz My Black Azz is one of those joints that manages to fall through the cracks. His consistency and great albums were overlooked by Eazy E's death, Dr. Dre becoming one of the best hip hop producers ever, and Ice Cube's golden touch. But if you were paying attention to that group, then you knew Ren had what it took to make a big splash. He did just that in '92. Don't sleep on this, Ren doesn't make bad albums. Check this one out if you're into old school gangsta rap.
Standout Tracks: Final Frontier, Intro [Check It Out Y'all], Behind The Scenes, & Right Up My Alley March 2, 2006
MC Ren - Kizz My Black Azz EP
1. Intro: Check It Out Y'all
2. Behind the Scenes - Good beat, Ren flow is real gangsta, there isn't really a hook, just a guy talking - 4.5/5
3. Final Frontier - Nice beat, Rens spits lyrics so raw its crazy, hook is good....the best song he ever made...classic - 5/5
4. Right Up My Alley - first minute is a skit which is pointless in songs, Nice beat, Ren comes correct, interlude type hook - 4/5
5. Hounddogz - Good beat, Ren spits about girls not showing him attention back in the day but tryin to suck up to him now that he's famous, hook is good - 4.5/5
6. Kizz My Black Azz - HARD beat, Ren raps fast and hardcore, hook is good - 5/5
Overall: 23/25
5 Stars
Ren lives up to his name as the ruthless villain and rips up every track on here. It's just a shame how he never gets his respect for being in the N.W.A and still made good music after they broke up. February 6, 2005
