| | One of the Best Italian Albums Ever | |
This is one of the best Italian CDs I've ever listened to. No kidding. Eros Ramazzotti has such a distinctive voice; it may take you a while to like his voice if you've never listened to his music before. It's a bit nasal (in a good way), yet he manages to sing every word as clearly as day. His vocals are amazing and fit the genre quite well. Trust me when I say that if you like Italian pop in general, you'll like 9.
Tracks I'd recommend are:
1) Un Attimo di Pace (A Moment of Peace) - It's upbeat yet is full of emotions including happiness and longing.
3) Un'Emozione Per Sempre (An Emotion Forever) - Simply beautiful, and its title fits it perfectly.
4) Mamarà - It has a Caribbean-type feel; quite enjoyable.
After this album, you'll definitely want to check out his other ones. I'd suggest his self-titled one and 'Tutte Storie.' Forza Eros!

Never has a song managed to bring me to tears in such a vulnerable way, but 'Canzone Per Lei' did it, for some inexplicable reason. I haven't been married, so haven't suffered the pain of divorce and separation from a child (which is what the song is about, right?), but the song just breaks my heart every time I listen to it. I literally bawl like a toddler with a scraped knee! Must be the achingly beautiful way he sings, because I just don't know how else to explain it. Bravissimo, Eros!
August 2, 2006I think it is one of his BEST CD. I'm happy that I've ordered it.
July 14, 2006For many years, my only exposure to Eros was at family weddings where the DJ would play a wonderful tune, "Ti Sposero Perche," (which as a teenager, I thought was one of the most romantic songs of all time.) Then my dad bought 9 for me in Italy last year and I become enamored of Eros's sultry voice and spine-tingling lyrics. I haven't been able to remove the CD from my CD changer ever since! You don't have to know Italian to love the album, but it does help to be able to understand the lyrics. He sings so honestly and beautifully about relationships! Definitely on my Top 10 list!
July 5, 2006My husband and I saw an Eros music video in Munich a few weeks ago, I loved the song even though I couldn't understand sentence one. What I admired most in the video was that the audience was made up of children to seniors and everyone knew the words and was enthralled w/the performance. 9 is the first of his CDs that's arrived and I cannot stop listening to it even though the song we saw/heard isn't even on it. If I never hear music from other artists again I won't feel any loss.....I am definitely in love.....ready to pack it all up and move to Italy w/all my dogs!!
