The products arrived very quickly. I enjoyed seeing the movie again and I listen to the CD when I am in my car. Thank you and I will do business again.
August 27, 2008 | | Nice Idea! But again, Another Greatest Hits?
I am a huge Selena fan. I collect everything that is released by her. This a very good album, but it has previously released songs we already own. I love the idea that they did put just her English songs on here, but I would not consider any of them hits. The only ones that were hits were "I Could Fall In Love,Dreaming Of You,Missing My Baby, and I'm Getting Used To You". As for the rest, while they are very good songs, they were not hits. Just songs from when Selena was younger and then unreleased songs that were included on the Selena Soundtrack. It is clever to release it in her memory. I do recommend this to any Selena fan that is just wanting to learn about her English market songs. If your looking for true Selena classics, Pick up the 2003 album "Ones" or the 2005 album "Unforgettable - The Studio Album".

October 10, 2007 | | Selena: Tex-Mex Queen. May She Rest In Peace
Selena, the queen of Latin Music Tex-Mex upon her death, became an instant legend. She marked the beginning of the new trend "Tex-Mex," as well as marked a time in the history of America when native Spanish speakers began openly speaking Spanish in employment and in the marketplace. Long gone were the days of trying to assimilate into American culture for fear of rejection, hispanic Americans were proud of their new branded identity as latinos and were ready to take America on, and it seems like almost overnight advertising began shifting toward the hispanic marketplace with many original American brands now trying to find their identity in said market. Even the jingle to Oscar Mayer weenies was being sung in Spanish!
A tragedy that Selena wasn't able to enjoy much of her newfound Latin Music fame especially after all of her hard work and effort into becoming a star, but she certainly left us with great music in English and in Spanish.
Selena - Greatest Hits contains 16 tracks. The only two I have really listened to and like tremendously are tracks 2 and 6, I Could Fall In Love and Dreaming of You, respectively. This is definitely a collector's item.
