The Best Song By This Band
Being of a quiet, soft and romantic disposition,I've never been quite fascinated by vociferous or hip-hop music and so invariably it goes without saying that I've never found myself drawn towards the Black Eyed Peas. But amazingly and strangely "Where Is the Love" has become one of my favourite tracks of all time. I find the lyrics apt and there's a certain force and meaning in them that enslave me as a spontaneous fan of this song. Indeed the universal plight portrayed in this song eminds me of Gary Jules's "Mad World",which too was centred around the chaos surrounding the world from a personal perspective but was of a slow tewmpo rhythm. I've watched the video of "Where Is the Love" a couple of times but prefer to listen to the track instead as I found it indifferent. July 13, 2006
The Verdict Is In. . .
This song is weak and that's the bottomline. Go get Robert Flack and Donnie Hathaway's version which is WAY better. October 21, 2005
Great song, and one more thing......
This is a great song, so true. And it's quite infectious, that helps. Unless you're a diehard psychotic Bush-worshipping Republican like L.W., you should like this song. And a word to you, L.W.: it's called the right of FREE SPEECH. I'm exercising mine right now: you have made it quite clear in your ignorant review that you despise Liberals. That isn't BEP's problem, you bigot, judge a song for it's quality, and if the lyrics say something you disagree with, that is not a reason to give it a horrible review. If you opened your eyes a little and actually did some homework, you'd know what a stupid fool Bush is (now HE is someone I could understand you loathing and having to 'count down' before speaking logically about). We have troops dying in Iraq for one of two reasons, if not both: we want oil and/or we want democracy over there. We attempt far too often to inflict our way of life upon other countries, when the reality is IT ISN'T WANTED. A frickin' Civil War is beginning over there and we of course just have to intervene. I'm sorry for wasting peoples' time dragging on about this, but this guy's review pissed me off. Let BEP speak their mind, L.W., you sure as hell had no problem spewing yours. May 22, 2005
Definately the most beautiful song I have ever heard!!
I heard "Where Is The Love" for the first time, & I heard all my feelings being sung right before my ears.I was especially touched by the part sung by Apl.De.Ap, my favorite of the Black Eyed Peas:
"Whatever happened to the values of humanity? Whatever happened to the fairness and equality? Instead of spreadin love, we spreadin animosity. Lack of understanding leading lives away from unity......"
It is all so true.I couldn't believe it. I had never felt so close to a song, because I have never found a song which I could actually relate to. The powerful, beautiful lyrics could easily pass as a poem, because they make so much sense, it's unreal. The chord progression used is also very beautiful (F,C,Dm,Bb). Before I knew it, listening to "Where Is The Love" became a daily ritual for me, and now, I can never end a day without hearing it atleast once. I absolutely love this song, and I am beyond excited about the Peas' new album, "Monkey Business", which is to be released on April 4, 2005. February 12, 2005
