Average user review:| What The World Needs Now: Burt Bacharach Classics, Popular Amazon MP3 Item, Multi-Customer Reviews, Very Cool |
Originally released in 2003, featuring 23 Tracks, with an eight page essay by David Konjoyan, lots of action color photos, the A&M Chronicles and Universal labels, 96k/24-bit Mastered/All Original Recordings.
You can't beat that.
I purchased the CD around its' initial release, the album was a bit of a revelation.
It was the first time I heard a couple live tracks with the Burt Bacharach Orchestra from 1974.
The live instrumental for Walk On By with the seminal arrangement from his first Solo album, Burt Bacharach Plays His Hits, poured out of my speakers.
Track 5.
I couldn't believe what I was hearing.
I didn't know instrumentals from Burt Bacharach Plays His Hits were capable of being reproduced live.
Magic.
Listen for the flute carry the lead vocal and Woman's Choir.
I was able to find out the two live tracks are off the A&M album Burt Bacharach Live In Japan.
Track 23 is a live Medley: Don't Make Me Over/Anyone Who Had A Heart/What's New Pussycat/Wives And Lovers/24 Hours From Tulsa.
Previously, I had never known these live tracks existed.
A nice way to kick off the New Millenium.
Welcome new Product to embellish.
The back of What The World Needs Now: Burt Bacharach Classics has one of my favorite photos of our Maestro on stage talking to his audiance dressed in a Tux with gold cuff links, holding his microphone and adjoining cord.
A Star.
All good compilations have a way of setting off a spark.
When I pull up the Amazon Burt Bacharach store it's nice to see What The World Needs Now: Burt Bacharach Classics is popular to download.
It's fitting the first track be Something Big. Burt Bacharach is one of my favorite Vocalist.
(There's) Always Something There To Remind Me jumps out of the speakers, listen for the big rave up at the end of the song, it really Swings.
What The World Needs Now: Burt Bacharach Classics is a good companion piece alongside the recent release, Burt Bacharach With The Sydney Symphony Orchestra Live @ The Sydney Opera House.
Check it out.

'What The World Needs Now.'
I enjoyed this CD tremendously, as all the songs are top notch. Just wait until you hear the medley at the end, for it blows you away with an electrifying climax sending the listener into shivers of admiration and pleasure. May God continue to bless Burt Bacharach, and may he continue to thrill audiences the world over.
Very highly recommended!!!
