2Pac - Resurrection

How do you separate this release from the rest in the posthumous Tupac cottage industry? Quite easily, actually. Resurrection is the soundtrack to the movie of the same name, so it does not feature slapped together re-mixes with producers that flaunt below-average beat portfolios. The album does have its share of sketchy moments, starting with the five-second "Intro," which has Tupac mumbling "…now this is the next level with this new album." The idea of stitching together castaway Tupac vocal snippets is nothing new to his estate, and this collection contains four previously unreleased tracks, two amply re-tooled by Eminem ("Ghost," "One Day at a Time") and the other two being duets with Notorious B.I.G. ("Runnin'") and thug du jour 50 Cent ("The Realest Killaz"). Where this compilation differs from the rest, however, is that it culls together music from different stages of Tupac's development, from his pubescent days accessorizing Digital Underground’s funk-fuelled sound ("Same Song") to the days where his persecution complex set in ("Starin’ Through My Rear View"). Tupac Resurrection

Tupac is definantly in the top five rappers of all time, but when I was going through my CD's, I realized I didn't have any, so I went to Amazon a couple of weeks later to get 2Pacalypse Now, but ut was kind of expensive, so I got the soundtrack to Resurrection. I wasn't really expecting much since it was cheap, but it was honestly really good. I liked all the songs, not one is even slightly stupid. R.I.P Tupac April 28, 2008

This is horrible and 50 and eminem wit pac ?He woulnd have dat at all.Dey snitches.Fakes.For a good pac album get "all eyes on me" and "me against the world", "strictly 4 my n.g.i.g.a.z." Everything else after dat ? Ain worth copyin it. Dey jus tryin to make money out of the dudez death. Sad. I kno dey say dey wanna keep him alive by releasin his stuff after he died but if dey cared about him dey woulnd put fake nuggaz like 50 on his album. Diz is trash. June 10, 2007

One of the best posthumous TuPac CDs

Of all the CDs that have been released since TuPac died, this is probably the best one. Many tracks are solid, and Eminem and 50 have a pretty strong presence on the few songs they're on. Unlike a lot of the CDs put out after TuPac's death, this one seems a bit more true to his stuff in life. This isn't the best TuPac CD, definitely not. But it's solid, and a good addition to your CD case if you're a fan. April 30, 2006
