I've been singing for 20 years. I am accustomed to listening for vocal qualities like richness of tone, vocal range, vocal ring, and overall vocal control to name a few. It's something that people judge for themselves whenever they listen to music or sing music and then pick what they like. Kurt Nilsen has a strong, distinctive voice that isn't often matched by male vocalists in today's music industry. I'm glad his music is being produced. I came across Kurt's singing through an online clip performing "Hallelujah" and needed to hear more. If you want to listen to someone who is a phenomenal singer, listen to Kurt's work. It's a high grade A sound.
March 14, 2008I first heard Kurt sing when he won Norway's version of American Idol and fell in love with his voice. Unfortunately, that particular song was not one of those included on this CD. However, I still rate it as very good and I do recommend it.
A bit of trivia: Kurt worked as a plumber before winning the Idol competition.
January 26, 2008I know I might be a bit biased being a norwegian like Kurt, but this album is just superb. Kurt Nilsen has a voice that would be the envy of angels. The control and quality of his vocals combined with his songwriting is a combination that shows that he belongs up there in company with the best musicians of today.
My only regret for buying this album (I bought the one with the bonus track) is that I didnt buy it before.

I purchased this CD in the month of it's release...and I'm still listening to it. All of the songs are amazing, and I can honestly say that they never get boring at all. I suggest this to anyone who enjoys the work of a great artist!

My husband and I were blown away last year by Kurt's win on "World Idol." His rendition of U2's "Beautiful Day" is better than the original. He has a sweet yet rockin' voice that playfully pulls you in with his angst, his strong lyrics and unbelieveable voice. BUY THIS CD!!! It's been in constant rotation at our house for a year, and we are still diggin it. WHY ISN'T KURT IN THE MAINSTREAM? He's my favorite -- he'll be yours, too.
